Tina Fey On Sarah Palin: "If She Wins...I'm Leaving Earth"

Tina Fey told TVGuide she'll be "done" if John McCain and Sarah Palin win the election next month.

The "SNL" veteran who has come back to play the Republican Vice Presidential candidate (and whose own show, "30 Rock," is still nowhere to be seen), said, "We're gonna take it week by week. If she wins, I'm done. I can't do that for four years. And by 'I'm done,' I mean I'm leaving Earth."

Fey also said it's a busy but exciting time for "SNL."

"Election time is always good for [SNL] and this is a bonkers election," she said. "And that lady is a media star. She is a fascinating person, she's very likeable. She's fun to play, and the two bits with Amy [Poehler], that was super fun," Fey says.

Well, with Sarah Palin as President (and you know that John McCain will pop off on Nov. 5 from all the excitement if he does in fact win), earth will no longer be earth as we know it. It will be some strange hell run by a hillbilly family from Wasilla, AK. And, yes, some of us already have potential job offers in Canada and the UK lined up if the worst does happen. Seriously, 8 years have been enough.

Don't confuse the stupid American mob of Rust Belt whites who would be the ones responsible for electing Palin (as they did NIXON twice, REAGAN twice, and W twice!) with the human race. There's no other country in the entire developed world where Palin would not be laughed off the stage the first time she appeared. Most developed countries are not nearly as stupid as America. That's why the rest of the developed world prefers Obama by something like an 80/20 margin, whereas HERE it's been a big struggle for lots of Americans to figure out that McCain's over the hill and Palin's simply a dolt.

Every election Hollywood stands up and makes similar ridiculous promisses. And, after every election they fail to deliver. I guess I don't give the hollywood crowd enough credit when it comes to politics. Seems that they have a much better grasp on the politician "over promise and under deliver" routine than I once believed.

I think Tina Fey as Sarah Palin is just about the only funny thing that show has done since "Lazy Sunday." I don't want the McCain-Palin ticket to win but I DO want to see more of Tina as Sarah in the future. Maybe Governor Doggoneit will somehow stay in the news after an Obama-Biden landslide and we can keep right on laughing. For more comedy in the meantime, search YouTube for "Maybe Gay Ray."

The headline for this post is misleading. Apparently people aren't reading and understanding what she said. She is NOT saying she is "done" and wants to "leave Earth" because she couldn't stand having Palin as VP, she is saying she is "done" doing Palin on SNL after the election is over. She has said that all along. Here is another quote from her: “I was fighting them all week on it,” Fey said. “I kept saying, ‘I don’t want to do it, I’m not an impressionist.’ I kept telling (‘SNL’ producer) Lorne (Michaels), ‘No! I’ll show up … I’ll do anything except play her. I can’t do it.’ Then, I was worn down. Lorne wore me down by the end of the week.” I'm pretty sure Fey won't be voting for Palin but it is not fair to take her words out of context and twist them into what you want them to be. This knee-jerk reaction to headlines and overall lack of critical thinking is what leads people to say things like "Obama is an Arab." It's wrong no matter what "side" is doing it. All these pages of debate about something she never even said!!!
