Tina Fey Sarah Palin

Tina Fey told TVGuide she'll be "done" if John McCain and Sarah Palin win the election next month.

The "SNL" veteran who has come back to play the Republican Vice Presidential candidate (and whose own show, "30 Rock," is still nowhere to be seen), said, "We're gonna take it week by week. If she wins, I'm done. I can't do that for four years. And by 'I'm done,' I mean I'm leaving Earth."

Fey also said it's a busy but exciting time for "SNL."

"Election time is always good for [SNL] and this is a bonkers election," she said. "And that lady is a media star. She is a fascinating person, she's very likeable. She's fun to play, and the two bits with Amy [Poehler], that was super fun," Fey says.

For the full story, pick up the October 20th issue of TV Guide, plus the following week's issue (October 27th) featuring TV Guide's cover story on 30 Rock's Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin.

It's pretty pathetic for an adult to make a statement, even in semi-jest, that if their beloved candidate doesn't win then it's the end of the world.

I've never heard a conservative say that about any election. Maybe it's because we are assured that, no matter who wins, someone greater is in charge.

No, just a general belief that there is a power higher than ourselves that is active in the universe, and that no matter how bad things get, we have can faith in that power.

Tina, most of us on the planet will be leaving earth along with you. It used to be said that the only thing that would survice a nuclear holocaust would be cockroaches. That will now be turef the McCain/Palin campaign

My fellow feminists always used to ask," Why does everyone assume God is a man...why not a woman." Although genderless is probably more correct, when I see the attractive Sarah Palin I wonder why so many assume the Devil is a man and not a woman. Im joking, but she scares the apocolypse right out of me. I have my spaceship ready and GPS set to Sirius.

Trust me, plenty of books hidden out there have the devil represented as a woman.

If I share the books, can I have a spot on your spaceship please?

Tina Fey doesn't want Gov Palin to win? OK, but why is this news? Does Tina's political expertise engender that large a following? The only contemporary newsworthy, celebrity seeking, earthly departures for politcal purpose seem to involve a large volume of Koolaid or a Hale Bop hookey ride! I hope that isn't the case here as I do enjoy her work and, after Sarah wins, there will be plenty of material for her as well as SNL....in fact, i suggest her fans vote early and often in the true ACORN spirit for Palin and keep Fey in business.

I suspect in the final analysis, Tina Fey would get more votes in any election. Celebrities win big in the Republican party...Jack Kemp, Ronald Reagan, J.C. Gibbs, Jim Bunning, Jim Ryun, Sonny Bono, Fred Thompson, Senator Tom Osborne to name just a few who have used their celebrity status as a base from which to launch a career in politics. The Dems are too busy working for a living and funding others who have more expertise in important economic and social issues to win electiosn and serve.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:39 PM on 10/13/2008

Well researched and, yes, but using her celeb status as a jumping off point for politics isn't the issue here. What is the issue is how such an inane comment like "I'm leaving" can actually get wings. I do hope she reconsiders. She is a lovely young woman and talented. I am sure several countries will have her. There is no real need for her to fly into true oblivion.

With that attitude, I'll help her pack! And why is Alec Baldwin still here? I sent $5.00 to help pay for his ticket out.

I don't think you have to worry about Tina leaving Earth. The fare exceeds her SNL salary and now her 401k. The good news is that she wont have to consider it on Novembr 5, 2008. Keep wishing fella. It appears that your sense of humor has been tempered by the polls over the last few weeks. I think, like most people, that she is as funny as hell.

Speaking of a sense of humor, your response sounds a little anal. Don't you think, like most people, I'm funny?!

Look at how misleading and slanted the headline is. It makes readers believe that Tina Fey has made a political endorsement of Obama... which NBC would fire her if she did.
What she said was -- if Palin wins, Tina will not be returning to SNL to do skits for the next 4 yrs.
SNL is NOT her gig.

Does anyone else feel like screaming? I can't stand this campaign for one more minute..eeecck. What was it that the wonderful character in "Network" says, "I'm sick and tired and I won't take it anymore". I will be leaving with Tina and the nine tenths of the world if Pain-in, wins. But hey, that will be fun. All the nut jobs will be left and they'll probably all shoot each other and then we can go home. I don't usually make comments in these blogs but I feel so crazy these days I had to add my silly two cents.

Please make room for me!! This could turn into an exodus of epic proportions. Not only do I balk at the notion of living in a country run by McCain and Palin, I don't want anything to do with a country where a plurality of the voting public would put them in office! That's no America any sane person would be proud of.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:08 PM on 10/13/2008

Boy, oh Boy!! If we could get rid of the lefty moonbats, including McCain, we just might make this a great country again!

For once I wish Liberals would live up to their promises. I sincerely hope that someone will pay or your ticket to any place in the galaxy you want to go. If you think you will have it so much better on another planet then be my guest. And for all of you that swear you will move to another country please just drop me a message. I'll gladly pack your things for you and I will even carry your bags.

What is there about McCain you don't like?
Thus far, on this board all I read are rants about McCain and Palin, but nothing substantial.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:43 PM on 10/13/2008

For once I'd love conservatives to quit using the word "liberal" like it was dirty.

And no...you don't have to carry a thing for me. Have fun shooting moose.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:29 PM on 10/13/2008

It is dirty. At one time, liberal had the connotation of progressive, compassion and understanding for the working class, and patriotism. Today, it is none of these.
John Kennedy was a liberal, and he was also a patriot, stood down communists from Cuba to Berlin. The President Kennedy brand of liberal is almost non-existent.
I am in search of this liberal brilliance I keep hearing about, and this is one reason I am here.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:41 PM on 10/13/2008
