I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Hank Williams

Country singer Hank Williams, Jr joined the McCain-Palin campaign in in Virginia on Monday. Appearing at a rally Williams sang a version of his one-time hit song "Family Tradition" called "McCain-Palin Tradition," with all new lyrics. In the song he now sings of the liberal media, hunting and radical friends. The McCain could use a good song, as they've been told to stop using songs by Heart, Jackson Browne, Van Halen, the Foo Fighters, so far.

Watch the performance or scroll down for the lyrics:

New lyrics:

The left wing liberal media have always been a real close knit family
But most of the American people dont believe em anyway you see
Stop and think it over
Before you make your decision
If they smell something wrong, they're gonna come down strong
You know McCain-Palin tradition
John and Sarah tell you just what they think. They're not gonna blink. And they don't have radical friends to whom their careers are linked
John is his own man
And Sarah fixed Alaska's broken condition
They're gonna be just fine
Were headed for good times
You know McCain-Palin Tradition
This old unions got problems
That is plain to see
The democrats bankrupted Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac
Like 1-2-3
The bankers didn't want to make all those bad loans
Bill Clinton said "you got to!"
Now they wanna bail out
what I'm talking about
Is a democrat liberal hoodoo!
To me and you
John and Sarah tell you just what they think
And they're not gonna blink
They're gonna fix this country, cuz they're just like you and ol Hank
I am very proud
Of our country's name
But no society is perfect
And we have had our stains
If I'm down at the coffee shop
Somebody wants to start do give our flag friction
I say please move on, were standing strong
Thats an Old John McCain tradition
John and Sarah tell you just what they think
And they're not gonna blink
They're gonna fix this country, cuz they're just like you and ol Hank
If I'm down at the coffee shop
Somebody wants to start do give our flag friction
I say please move on, were standing strong
Thats an Old Sarah Palin tradition
Some are bound to tell you
I'm preaching to the choir
And that is very true, and we are going even higher
Like a Mama bear in Idaho
She'll protect your family's condition
If you mess with her cubs, shes gonna take off the gloves, thats an American female tradition
Ehi tell me Sarah why do you hunt
John why do you fish
How can you be so smart and savvy
such a hey good-looking dish
Yes John is his own man
And Sarah fixed Alaska's broken condition
Were gonna see the light, they're gonna get it right, its a McCain-Palin tradition

I think I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.

On one of the rural radio stations where I live, I've been hearing a lot more HW jr. being played, and the paranoid part of my mind has wondered "are the program directors just trying to stir up redneckian emotion pre-election?" If he records this in studio and they play it, I am SO going to picket outside their doors.

HW Sr., Johnny Cash, Waylon - now those were some real mavericks. They wouldn't sell out like Jr. did.

Republicans! Are you guys serious? Do you actually call this a campaign? It looks more like a Clan Rally! Give me a break! You actually want us to believe that you are not running a campaign of division? Thats all John McCain is about. Promoting Division. God forbid he gets elected. This country will be so DIVIDED! He want be able to get anything done! DEMOCRATS will REFUSE to work with him for at least his first 3 years! He will be a utter failure!

Why is he the voice of Monday Night Football? The players don't even listen to this kind of music, and yet this is the sound representing nationally televised games on Monday nights.

Now he's gone radical with this political song containing propaganda lies and towing the line in support of people with legitimate connections to domestic terrorists (AIP). He should be replaced.

I have wondered the same thing about MNF. Couldn't they find someone a little more modern? I'm sure he owns the rights to that MNF song though, and he's probably a bargain since his career is dead in the water.

I already contacted ESPN to tell them that they lost at least my viewership of MNF--for the first 15 minutes while the ratings are taken. No need to miss a good football game because of dumb ole Hank Jr.

Also, how come Hank Williams can't sing? I'm not sure I've ever consciously heard him before - did he always sound like this?

That song is about getting drunk and stoned. Odd choice for a political rally.

I don't understand. How is the financial crisis the democrats fault? I haven't been watching Fox News so I don't know how they explain that.

Hilarious clip of John Cleese talking about Sarah Palin

The financial crisis is the democrats' fault because Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and Bill Clinton pushed through legislation that forced Fannie, Freddie and the banks to drastrically lower their lending standards. They and other democrats also blocked legislation co-sponsored by John McCain that would have increased oversight on Fannie and Freddie. Then they got the goons at ACORN (which got $800,000 from Obama's campaign) to enforce the bad lending practices by harassing and threatening bank officers and their families. As recently as three months ago, Barney Frank, Cynthia McKinney and other liberal dems swore up and down that Fannie and Freddy were in great shape and did not need any more oversight, and that the concerns of McCain, President Bush and other republicans were unfounded. You don't have to watch Fox News to understand that, you just have to do your own research, and stop being brainwashed by the Obama-worshipping media.

This is extremely troubling and it needs to be addressed:

You're kidding right. Ha ha ha - so funny - wow - that's all you got? Although I feel sorry for you - you must have been one of those 'no student left behind.' EDUCATE YOURSELF O'bama isn't divorced - EVER! It was your candidate who was divorced - left his wife for his ugly boney one because his first wife was left disfigured. But you know...he's got FAMILY VALUES!

It seems the only radicals in this race are the radical hateful rightwingers who are screaming threats to kill Barack Obama.

Wonder if Hank Jnr, gets it? Nah. For a quarter of a million dollars I might consider jumping around like a sad fa&&ot, too.

I guess cozying up to the AIP who loath America and want to turn Alaska into a foreign country by violence if necessary aren't considered radicals.
