The Hill:

Barack Obama's ads are now appearing in several sports video games, including the granddaddy of them all, Madden football.

The Obama campaign has purchased space in the popular Xbox 360 game "Madden NFL 09″ and nine other titles by video game maker Electronic Arts, said Holly Rockwood, the company's director of corporate communications.

Only gamers playing online in 10 states can see the ads, which appear as stadium signage or billboards, Rockwood said. (The ads are downloaded when gamers log on to the Xbox Internet service.) Unsurprisingly, all 10 states are swing states: Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Montana, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio and Wisconsin. President Bush won all of those states in 2004 except for Wisconsin.

I just bought my son a new XBOX game.

It is called, "ACORN Attack; How to suppress votes like the Republicans did, even when you're supposed to be a Democrat"

ACORN registers people to vote, shortbus. They never would suppress votes, and they never could suppress votes.

I heard about this on MSNBC.com earlier in the day, or was it last night? LOL

Amazing! I never would have thought about advertising in video games!
Obama and his campaign have taken election strategy to a all new level!

Wow, I guess when you have a lot of elitist campaign money you can afford to advertise just about anywhere.

It is not "elitist" money you right wing tool. His contributions come from everyday folks who donate. This is unlike McCain who gets most of his money from lobbyists.

DaveC19: What exactly a "right wing tool?"

Keep making a fool of yourself when you accuse someone you don't agree with, or doesn't support Obama, of being a Republican operative, etc., etc.,

Fools.

I love the way that man spends our money!

My hair may be back to it's original color because of all the hair appointments I've had to sacrifice to donate but it is sooooooo worth it, when I watch him do things with it that the other side hasn't even dreamed of!!

Go Team Obama!!!

I live in Ca, so we're already voting for Obama but what a intelligent way of reaching voters. Especially those who only turn the t.v on to play video games. Awesome job President Barack Obama

If Obama can come up with new ideas for running a campaign, I cannot wait to see what new ideas he has as POTUS!

And the Republicans haven't even been hit yet by the voter registration and get-out-the-vote operations. They're already on their knees! I've been waiting for this man to step forward for forty years!

I'm an Obama supporter, and I love this. I think it's ironic that he tells parents that they need to put away the video games so their kids will spend more time reading and learning, but I still love this.

What a brilliant way to reach voters, some of whom would rather spend Election Day blowing each other up online than spending the energy to go vote. Maybe they'll get out there and do something this time.

Video games have been mainstream for a few years now. Barack is just the first politician to realize this.

On the other hand, McCain's so out of touch, he probably thinks Xbox is a form of torture device, Playstation is the British term for playground, and Wii is something you say on a rollercoaster.

I don't think he said THROW AWAY video games, they are never appropriate. Plus I think the games mentioned are more popular with the post-highschool, even middle-aged crowd. This aint Arari 2600 dear!

Best ever. The Republicans can't even figure out what hit them. Many still don't realize they've been hit. It will sure be wonderful to have competent leaders again. I'm not expecting miracles, but competent leadership is a start.

I saw this earlier today on TPM. The Obama campaign has forever altered the way campaigning is done. If running this campaign was the only thing he had ever done, it would be proof enough of his capabilities.

I was noticing the past 2 nights while playing the mmorpg City of Heroes and City of Villains, that there are in-game adverts too, one was about Tony Hawk's cellphone thing that T-Mobile is putting out. I've seen Alienware adverts in games like Neocron and Anarchy Online also.

So it doesn't surprise me that a politician would choose to advertise in-game since that's a multi-billion dollar industry right there with millions of gamers worldwide. It's smart money. I remember also the one democrat, Bob Graham that was sponsoring the one racers truck in the Craftsman Truck Series. He got alot of attention and exposure just from that.

And one more thing. Is Holly Rockwood a real name? LOLOL!! That sounds too good to be true.

What a creative way to reach young voters, especially in the swing states. Keep going, Obama/Biden! I cannot wait to vote for you!

I posted this a bunch already, but I liked it so much I thought I would post it again. I think I'll post it a bunch more...

I have been working this Obama matching donor thing...it's great! You donate a certain amount...$25...$50, etc., and then they find a new donor to match it.

Here's my thinking. Instead of doing a large donation of say $250...$1000, do a WHOLE BUNCH of little donations...$10...$25, whatever you can afford. You get to write a note to the person who matches you.

Explain your rationale...that you made a smaller donation to attract more new donors...AND to allow the new donors room to do the same. Invite them to participate! Imagine if you donated 10 $25 gifts instead of one $250, and did it as a match. Then each of those people did 10...and then each of those did 10 and so on. It's a pyramid for our country's future! With no losers except those who have been trying to roll back the 20th Century for the past 3 decades.

Let's take our country back!
