WASHINGTON — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton puts the chances of her running for president again at near zero _ slightly higher than the chances she gives for becoming Senate majority leader or a Supreme Court justice.

In an interview aired Tuesday on "Fox & Friends" on the Fox News Channel, Clinton, D-N.Y., was asked the chances, on a scale of 1 to 10, that she would be the next majority leader in the Senate.

"Oh, probably zero," she said. "I'm not seeking any other position than to be the best senator from New York that I can be."

Being nominated to the Supreme Court?

"Zero," Clinton said. "I have no interest in doing that."

Running for president again?

"Probably close to zero," she said. "There's an old saying: Bloom where you're planted."

The former first lady, who was elected to the Senate in 2000 and re-elected in 2006, said she looked forward to working as a senator with a Barack Obama administration.

I love Hillary and am glad she is right where she is. Her speech in Scranton the other day was amazing, she delivers. Her one-liners are starting to remind me of Ann Richards from Texas.

This is meaningless. She was similarly coy about her intentions to run the first time around. Though I do feel she would shy away from running again if R epubs put up female candidates. I think it's hard enough for her to deal with losing this election, but it would be unbearable for her if she didn't have her claims of sexism to comfort her.

"it would be unbearable for her if she didn't have her claims of sexism to comfort her."

Wow. What an utterly petty and vindictive thing to say.

Like it or not, sexism DID and DOES exist in regards to Hillary Clinton. Just as r'acism DID and DOES exist in regards to Barack Obama. How would you react if someone make a snarky comment saying Obama had those claims to "comfort" him?

Earth to Zoey...I see nothing that supports the charge of sexism as the principle reason she lost the primary.

Shame she has no interest in a Supreme Court appointment. She's young enough to become
a major force there over time, in her decisions, her ability to argue well, her influence on law clerks for whom working there is often a step-off to careers in public service - and a legacy which is uniquely her own and might extend beyond her own lifespan - not secondary to who her husband is and what he did. My guess is her mere presence and intellect would intimidate the socks off certain parties there now.

I don't believe that she has no interest in it. For sure, however, she probably wouldn't survive confirmation.

Dems appear to be building that filibuster-proof majority in the Senate for Obama's first term.

i don't think she has the qualification for a seat in the supreme court. she may be a bright and ambitious lawmaker, but to render an opinion that would forever change peoples' lives is not her greatest asset. in short, an impartial, solomonic judgment. this is not to denigrate her. it's just a fact.

she will be very good, however, in the affairs of the state, i.e. education, even foreign affairs.

Hillary is smart to concentrate on her tremendous future in the Senate than to waste her time on her doubtful presidential race. Since she represented the old guard, as opposed to Obama's "change" message, she might not have won anyway. As a successor to the key role that Ted Kennedy played for decades she will have a much more rewarding career.

What a shame. The woman who should be the president as far as I'm concerned. Instead, members of this party chose a rookie, with questionable records and relationships. This will come back to bite us in the ass, mark my word.

Move on with your life. She lost fairly! She at least appears to have accepted it publicly, so why can't you?

Hillary, you mean so much more to the women and children of this entire country than to remain a senator from NY. Your potential to work for us could be much greater if you secure a seat on the Supreme Court or best of all, as the Attorney General. Please don't say no. We need you! You are a fighter.

HIllary Rocks.

Lots of ways she can be effective. At least she's campaigning for Obama now (although she could mention his name more than once in her 9 minute spiel LOL)

This omission may be a subtle way of saying to the last holdouts that they need to vote for the Democrat. Never mind what his name is.

She could also get on her knees and pray to the heavens that Obama become the president while asking everyone else on the crowd to do so along with her.

If Obama's name is all that you are listening for in her speeches, then you need to get some help. And for the record, I'm pretty sure she has mentioned his name more than once in her speeches... Honestly. Grow up. She's doing a great job and Obama is going to win regardless of whether she mentions his name 9 or 25 times.

She didn't say she would refuse a position in Obama's cabinet. Such a smart "lady".

I thought that was precisely what she was saying by reinforcing her role as Senator.

I don't trust the Clinton's at all any more. They say left, then go right. She might be playing defense too b/c she already rebuffed (sour grapes) or knows she won't be given a cabinet position.

She's lying on that SCJ thing. Give her another 8 yrs, I betcha that tune would change.

The primaries seemed so long ago. After all that quandry, I am happy to declare a restored level of respect and admiration for Hillary and Bill Clinton.

She is not completely delirious and without political understanding.
