ThinkProgress.com:

Last month, conservative columnist Kathleen Parker wrote a scathing column saying that Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) is "way out of her league" as the GOP's vice presidential candidate and called on the Alaska governor to "bow out" of the race in order to "save McCain, her party, and the country she loves."

Parker has subsequently noted angry responses from conservatives around the country. "To the GOP base, predictably, I'm a traitor," Parker wrote.

Last night on the Colbert Report, Parker reiterated her belief that Palin is not qualified for the GOP ticket, but she also revealed that some White House officials have told her that they secretly agree:

COLBERT: Now but you said you got emails from people in the White House who secretively -

PARKER: Did I say that?

COLBERT: Yes you did. You said you secretly got emails from people in the White House but you wouldn't name who they were, who said that they agreed with you.

PARKER: That's correct.

Colbert is brilliant and hilarious. I loved it when he went on O'Reilly's show and out-O'Reilly-ed the host!

Kathleen Parker is so pretty and she has a presence. Much too attractive and classy to just be in print. Give this lady a TV show.

CNN on Palin's Membership in the Anti-American Radical Group AIP

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAm-Nvk3FAw

CNN reports on Sarah Palin's connection to, and her husband, Todd Palin's membership in an Anti-American fringe group, the Alaska Independence Party (AIP) which was founded by a domestic terrorist.
The McCain campaign was NOT happy about a MSM outlet reporting on this!

Palin has turned out to be God's gift to the Democrats. Love it.

I was so happy to see this. I'm sure I wasn't alone in writing to CNN to ask them to cover this. Nice to see that they actually sometimes read what viewers want to see and respond accordingly.

I wrote to Rick Sanchez to thank him for covering this and asking him to also look into McCain's transition chief's ties to the Iraq Oil for Food scandal.

Finally. I've been a longtime CNN viewer but have stopped watching them over their slanted coverage. I've also been contacting them. I'm glad they finally put this out there but I won't go back to watching them.

I se ethere's a lot of tip toeing going on here. None of the heated rhetoric we hear when discussing Obama and his ties to Republican bogeymen.

This is why the repubs are now steaming angry at McCain. Palin clearly states that she has nothing to lose, that sort of mentality is clearly elementary. However, in the meantime, this type of hate-mongering Palin is pushing is spreading out to other incumbent repub campaigns and causing a lot of trouble.

If the White House WANTED Palin on the ticket, eighty per cent of the country would be against her. So saying "The White House does NOT want her on the ticket" is probably some kind of weird Republican reverse psychology.

Republican reverse psychology is nothing if not weird (as a general rule). Most Republicans are collections of pathologies anyway, which probably accounts for it....

Could be. They could also try something like this; Sarah Palin is a joke, and in times like these, we all need something to laugh about.

McCain is responsible for Palin, therefore, McCain is defective in his judgement, therefore McCain is not suitable for President, therefore vote Obama-Biden. Anyone with reasonable understanding of history, of the present conditions related to the economy, war, health, education, international cooperation, renewable energy, sustainable environment knows that McCain-Palin is not capable of doing anything effective.

Morning Joe seems to be impressed with Palin and will not say anything negative about Johns Mc Cains selection.

I wish they would have Sarah Palin as a full time guest on moring Joe and lets see Joe behavior during the programing.

You will see Joe shake after a few days yet he thinks the choice of Sarah Palin was a great one for Ameica.

Joe is Not fair and balanced as he loves to promote he is unbalanced and at times truly has the qualities of Sarah Palin when it comes to lying with passion.

Can anyone here tell me if Joe smokes something before the show starts to make him believe that his show is fair and balanced because for me his a bully and often times a brat. Other programs to not hide who they are for which is honest and i and others have no problem with that but Joe is a Idiot to try to make everyone think he is fair and balanced.

Palin is just building interest in a book deal. She, unlike John McCain, knows that it is over. She will need millions from a book deal to defend herself when she returns to Alaska - and she thought she would keep that money - HA!

Such a suggestion is obviously intended to undermine McCain's campaign at this stage of the game. Palin is obviously a new spirit saying old rantings trying to please certain segment of republican party. In this political climate it is very difficult to filter the true person of any candidate.

Ah, what a cute little idea, totally in the GOP spirit: Remove her from the ticket, and score two goals in one: An october surprise and a reinforcement of the glass ceiling. ("Voters weren't ready for a woman in the white house, let's never try that one again". Never mind that the woman in question was never qualified, nor representative for USA's women.)

Unfortunately for women, both parties' attempts at "gamesmanship" in putting women as VP candidates will do more to hurt women's causes than help them.

Ferraro with Mondale was a disaster. Like Palin, her background was not fully vetted and her he husband's dealings weren't fully disclosed by her. She didn't even win the feminine vote, much less help Mondale with the total election numbers. Of course, this primary season she ended up justifying the fact that many did not vote for her with her statements about a fellow Democratic candidate. If you don't agree with policy, it's one thing, but to make the same attack line on Obama that had been made on her was just amazing.

Palin's lack of vetting also did a huge disservice to women and, if McCain wins, to our country. Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Olympia Snowe, and many other Republican women would have been much better choices to help further women's progress in politics. Again, we are seeing the disaster that comes from the gambling McCain style. "Maverick" is not just doing things differently; it's doing things differently that work.

She is a truly vile individual, that has been as dangerous as the crowds at McCain/Palin events.

John McCain wants to know who the real Barack and Michele Obama are? Perhaps he and the rest of America should sit down and watch this video to find out.

It's probably providential that McCain picked Palin who has ensured his defeat. But it's too late for McCain to trash that Alaskan crook. He's stuck with her...and they will go down the rabbit hole of obscurity.
