Conservative Columnist Says White House Officials Want Palin Off Ticket (VIDEO)

Last month, conservative columnist Kathleen Parker wrote a scathing column saying that Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) is "way out of her league" as the GOP's vice presidential candidate and called on the Alaska governor to "bow out" of the race in order to "save McCain, her party, and the country she loves."

Parker has subsequently noted angry responses from conservatives around the country. "To the GOP base, predictably, I'm a traitor," Parker wrote.

Last night on the Colbert Report, Parker reiterated her belief that Palin is not qualified for the GOP ticket, but she also revealed that some White House officials have told her that they secretly agree:

COLBERT: Now but you said you got emails from people in the White House who secretively -

PARKER: Did I say that?

COLBERT: Yes you did. You said you secretly got emails from people in the White House but you wouldn't name who they were, who said that they agreed with you.

PARKER: That's correct.

I suspect you're right. The Bradley effect sounds pretty bogus to me for this reason. Black politicians have won plenty of elections in which they've been ahead in the polls going into the election. One exception doesn't elevate a situation to an "effect." This is total pseudo-"science" -- but, of course, the media love this kind of thing. In their small minds, it's a way of keeping up interest in the contest as a "horse race."

Sarah Palin may be an ignoramus and a less than savory politico, but I'd take her over Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Liddy Dole or Karen Hughes any day. As far as Condi Rice is concerned, she has the blood of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and over 4,000 Americans on her hands, not to mention the 3000+ people who perished on 9-11. Ms. Foreign Policy Expert was provided a memorandum that Al Qaeda was planning an internal attack within the United States a few days before 9-11, but both she and her boy king looked the other way.

Sarah Palin couldn't do any worse, in fact, in the unlikely event of her winning, she may do better.

Agreed. I lived in NY during 9/11 and Whitman making the statement that the air was safe around the Ground Zero site probably caused many people to go down there and work in the rescue & recovery effort without proper protection.

Previously healthy people who worked down there without protection have become ill with a host of diseases including respiratory ailments and cancers. Many have died or become disabled. How many more have a ticking time bomb in their bodies because they selflessly went to help and this woman's statements led them to believe they were safe? It is unconscionable. To my mind those people's illnesses and deaths are on her hands
