ThinkProgress.com:

Last month, conservative columnist Kathleen Parker wrote a scathing column saying that Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) is "way out of her league" as the GOP's vice presidential candidate and called on the Alaska governor to "bow out" of the race in order to "save McCain, her party, and the country she loves."

Parker has subsequently noted angry responses from conservatives around the country. "To the GOP base, predictably, I'm a traitor," Parker wrote.

Last night on the Colbert Report, Parker reiterated her belief that Palin is not qualified for the GOP ticket, but she also revealed that some White House officials have told her that they secretly agree:

COLBERT: Now but you said you got emails from people in the White House who secretively -

PARKER: Did I say that?

COLBERT: Yes you did. You said you secretly got emails from people in the White House but you wouldn't name who they were, who said that they agreed with you.

PARKER: That's correct.

Are you sure they don't think Palin has the knowledge to help with the economy?? Yep she'd be a deer in headlights and rambling incorrect information as the market dives.

Once again, COMEDY CENTRAL breaks a major news story. The state of our news media in this country is pathetic. Thank you, Steven. And thank you Ms. Parker.

Blame McBush! He wanted a cheap ride for the Presidency by choosing Secessionist Sarah Palin as his VP with the thought of wining those peevished white women who wouldn't vote Obama for his cheap ride for the White-House!

By this miscalculation and unwise move, he's just driven the little creditability and trustworthiness left of the Republican Party to the lowest steep ever recorded in histroy!

I strongly believe its about time Americans take back the true Republican Pary (GOP) back from the current inept establishment before its too late to save it! COUNTRY FIRST! & NOT McCAIN FIRST!

If these people are patriotic Americans, they should put country first, resign from the Bush adminstration, and endorse the Obama-Biden ticket.

Could you imagine what would happen if Palin were in charge of the country during something like the Cuban missle crisis? We would all end up being dead, including the Republicans.

If McCain heeds White house's warning and somehow dumps Palin, he will have just proved Obama's and democrat's talking point that McCain will be 4 more years of BUSH.

Please don't take her off the ticket.

I feel bad for Palin. She did NOT asked to be selected for a job that she is clearly not ready for. Republicans brought her to the national stage and destroyed her future political career, whatever that is. If you break it, you keep it.

She went right along with it knowing about herself and her baggage. I don't feel sorry for her at all.

that's why I feel sorry for her. She lacks the ability to impartially and truthfully assess her own qualities (or lack of).

If she had any brains, which we now know she does not, she would have declined the invitation.
No one put a gun to her head.

That is BS, she had a choice. She could've said no. Given the fact that she has a teenage daughter that is pregnant and she herself giving birth only months before to a baby with developmental issues who could've blamed her. At no time did we see anyone standing beside her with a gun to her head.

She didn't have a choice. She's too stupid to know that she's stupid. I'm sure she thought picking her made perfect sense.

She suffers from the arrogance of ignorance.

She didn't have a choice because she's too dumb to know any better.

Well, that depends.

To ABC, Flailin' said she didn't blink, but to Hannity, she had to have a "family vote" before she accepted.

Hmmm...

Replacing Palin isn't the solution to the problem.
McCain is the problem. His negative campaigning, acceptance of the xenophobic behavior and comments, and his control of his audience are just the obvious issues.
Palin is an easy puppet.
All of his behavior and choices should make anyone who wishes to live in a democratic country wonder what McCain up to.

Parker, you would do a noble serve to the country by just being brave and stating that you will not vote for McCain. Then, state that you support Obama and why you support Obama.
There are a lot of conservative women that are interested in what you have to say.

There's an ad on this page saying that Sarah Palan's IQ is 120. I find that VERY hard to believe. If her IQ is over 100 I would be very surprised. If her IQ is 120, there's something seriously wrong with her.

Her IQ could very likely be high. A high IQ does not translate into a knowledge of history, economics, law or statesmanship. she may have channeled her IQ into other areas like banning books and firing people. Smart doesn't always mean wise.

Well now, it's not up to the White House is it. McCain can do whatever he d a m n well pleases. And I hope it pleases him to keep her on the ticket. That will guarantee Obama a win. And I think Obama will win even if they replace her. He has shown himself to be intelligent, thoughtful and every inch a President. McCain, on the other hand, is "old man shouting at clouds".

I found her to be very sexy

and half the reason is because she is intelligent

(McCain would be well advised to understand what the implications of my statement are)

Hey EVERYBODY! Today I voted early. I have to tell you as an AA, I could not believe how emotional it was for me to see and touch-screen the names Obama/Biden for POTUS/VP. After my vote, me and a friend who went together, both stood there afterwards, outside of the polling place, we HUGGED and WE CRIED! I was not expecting to get so emotional. I thought I would share this story with you. So PLEASE if you can vote early, do so.

PoliJunkie, I'm voting next week (Florida early voting begins on the 20th of October). I will think about your story as I vote next week, and also think about how proud I, a white Jewish female will be to vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden!! Thanks for sharing your voting story!

That is so cool. My state doesn't have early voting, but by God, I'm parading 'round town like Barack's already won. I'll stand in line all darned day if I have to. This election is too important not to do the right thing.
