I Like ItI Don’t Like It

CNN's Kyra Phillips was introducing a guest Roland Martin Wednesday afternoon when she couldn't get the word "contributor" out, saying instead "cunt, cunt, contributor." But she was able to laugh after making the awkward mistake.

I really don't like the Leslie Sanchez woman, but that was a bit harsh- ha ha. It does bother me to see someone with a minority background supporting the party that's full of racists and bigots. Ms. Sanchez seems like a very intelligent woman, but I see her on CNN a lot, making excuses for the McCain campaign. Alex Castellanos is another one I don't get- he actually helps create the propoganda mess that comes from the repugnant party. Just sad. Can someone buy them a clue?

I concur I don't like Leslie Sanchez very much either (although I like how she looks; she's very attractive), however Alex Castellanos is Cuban-American and that has been a reliable group for the republican coalition in presidential campaigns. Moreover, I don't watch cnn very much, I watch msnbc more frequently, but I concur that they need to put on more intelligent Latinos in general that represent democratic policies not just ethnic issues like immigration. It's a slap in the face to Hispanics given their increasing numbers to not be represented adequately on national television. At least CNN puts hispanics on, I give them credit for that but MSNBC (my preference) never puts on any Latinos even when discussing the politics of race, how absurd to not have them give a view on this in an intelligent way. Very disappointing.

So, let me understand.

You can put the word in a headline and the body of an article ...

... but we can't use it in a comment.

How Bushian!

My thoughts EXACTLY!

Ah, now I get why my earlier comment did not make it through the screener--because I repeated a word used in both the headline AND the article. What I said, though, was that I did not hear Ms. Phillips say "that word," because she did not pronounce the final "t", and that this was a waste of HuffPo time and resources. I'm all for humor as a palliative in hard times--I've been out of work for 18 months, for god's sake, and I'm still laughing--but this video clip does not even approach funny.

Less funny, though, and oddly disturbing, is the HuffPo comment policy in which one cannot repeat the language of the headline and article in the comment. I guess we're all just second-class citizens out here. As Nanci Griffith put it: "We're living in the age of communication, When all the voices heard have money in their hands. . ."

"that this was a waste of HuffPo time and resources"

I have to say that it is their time and resources to waste if they want to. If I don't like it, I have the option to go somewhere else more to my liking. There's something for everyone on the internet. Even you.

THIS is what you find funny? Jeez.

Hey, if you see Kay, tell her we said hi.

Get it?

Didja get it? Huh?

I've seen Leslie Sanchez in action and I agree that was definitely a Freudian slip. That was hilarious.
