Early in 2007, just as her husband launched his presidential bid, Cindy McCain decided to resolve an old problem -- the lack of cellular telephone coverage on her remote 15-acre ranch near Sedona, nestled deep in a tree-lined canyon called Hidden Valley.

By the time Sen. John McCain's presidential bid was in full swing this summer, the ranch had wireless coverage from the two cellular companies most often used by campaign staff -- Verizon Wireless and AT&T.

Try clicking on the original article and you will get a McCain/Palin pop-up above the article's text. Interesting diversion and tactic. Avoid the truth by obliterating it.

Economists talk talk and write about Consumer Sovereignty and Dollar Votes:
From McConnell/Brue Macroeconomics text book
":In the market system, consumers are sovereign (in command). Consumer sovereignty works through consumer demand....Through these "DOLLAR VOTES" consumers register their wants...."
To the extent that we have any "dollar votes" left during this economic crisis, my suggestion is: Vote with your dollars as well as in the election booth.
My two year contract with ATT just happens to end in November --- see ya!

This story is just plain stupid.

ANYONE with lousy reception can call up their friendly neighborhood cellular provider and ask for a tower. If you have the space and your neighbors don't mind, they'll put up a tower (provided it's a certain distance away from the next closest tower, etc).

At my last house (a subdivision that was only a few years old) I couldn't get a signal at all inside the house, and could barely get one if I walked out in to the yard. I tried phones from 3 different providers and they all had the same problem. The problem was the lack of towers. My cellular company would have built a tower for me if my neighbors and HOA hadn't complained.

Very good job of investigative reporting by James Grimaldi at the Post on this sleazy story. I wish the television "reporters" would get off their duffs and follow suit.

Where is Vicki Iseman, my friends? I have been asking this question for months. A telecommunications industry lobbyist who was in tight with McSame. Just how tight? We'll apparently never know, my friends, because the story was erased faster than Sarah Palin could wink at Putin from her back porch in Anchorage. My friends, we really need to find Ms. Iseman. I'm sure that many of the loose ends in this affair could be straightened out if we only could ask a few questions, my friends. Ah well, we will probably never know the full extent of the relationship between McSame and the telcoms, my friends, and it really doesn't matter because he's toast in this election and as a Senator from now on he'll look more cranky and crotchety than Ted "Hey, you kids! Get outta my yard!" Stevens. My friends, he's lost all credibility. Sad way for a hero to go down in flames, my friends.

Gee, wonder if we can get portable tower for my 87 year old FIL we worry about falling or needing help and Verizon phone coverage sucks bigtime (0-1 bars in the city)?

Oh, never mind, he is a WWII Marine vet and Democrat, who agreed w/Obama from the start that the Iraq war was a boondoggle.

Oh, to be rich!

Isn't it ironic that the rich are given more freebies than anyone else, yet they don't need them!
