In spite of Bob Schieffer, Obama did very well.
I think he did a good job of moderating in spite of his bias.
PUKE! Where is Walter Cronkite when you need him!
Regarding Schieffer: unlike the raging right , I do think that a moderator can be fair despite a personal preference. I don't regard his, or Ifill's, preferences to be disqualifying.
The bad and stupid ones are in for a rough ride now.
Their lies and cruelty are exposed.
People are abandoning the republican party in droves.

While I thought this was the best moderated "debate" - a low bar granted - I was getting angry that Schieffer gave McCain the last word most of the time. I was a little surprised that Obama didn't object, but in retrospect maybe be realized that McCain wasn't coming across well.
Give Schieffer some credit, he asked better questions and did repeat the question when they tried to dodge it.
Right after the debate, I thought that McCain had won it and was surprised by the polling. Perhaps this was because I was listening to it and not watching it. I thought Obama was flat and defensive, though I thought he finally deflected the Ayers issue and the ACORN nonsense well.
Today, the Dems should hammer the Repubs on McCain's apparent claim that protecting a woman's health is an "extreme" policy. I guess dying in childbirth is one of the "sacrifices" he wants Americans to make.
He was fine as moderator. End of story
he has been on the most because he has been around since the great depression.

Anyone notice how McCain changed the subject to the economy when he was losing the Ayers debate?
How convenient!
It's hard to fight someone who lies about something so consistently and O bama has lied consistently. I think he almost believes himself at this point.
That's the pot calling the kettle black.
McCain has told the truth so rarely that it stands out when he accidentally stumbles across it.
Why do republicans take pride in being ignorant?
Frankly, you Trolls are becoming laughable and will be slinking away into hiding on Nov 4th.......
If you repeat a lie enough..ma
You go with that pup, if it makes you feel better.
If McCain doesn't care about a "washed-up old terrorist," why on earth does he keep bringing the guy up?
Obama answered very well. Like the commentary that he an Ayers served on a Republican sponsored charity and that he also "pals around" with some Republican names. Noticed McCain on this? Stupid smile!
McCain like little Miss Muffet Palin didn't really answer questions. He basically just kept saying what he didn't like about Obama
Even with him being a McCain fan, McCain still lost!!! What's the handicap on that kind of loss?
I find it interesting that the top sponsor for last night's debate was you guessed it--Annheiser Busch....
Yeah, THAT was obvious from the first time he cut off Obama's chance to respond to McCain's blathering
But the Dems, despite all the Republican whining to the contrary, seem to, oh, NOT WHINE as much as the Republicans, or seek so many excuses, so nobody cared. We should be able to trust the debate moderators to be impartial. Unfortunately, we very obviously CAN'T trust the Republicans and their supporters to be impartial, as they keep failing to even make an effort at not being partisan.
What I find amazing is the fact that nobody bothered to bring up any bias on Bob Schieffer's part or even mention it...But when it came to Gwen Ifill everybody was up in arms for days prior to the VP debate. I am so sick and tired of this double standard that this world simply excepts without question.
I noticed that during "tit for tat" exchanges between Obama and McGrumpy, the moderator often moved on to the next question after letting McCain have the last word.
Also, at the end of the of the debate McCain thanked the moderator and said a hesitant "thank... you" to Obama. Obama did thank the moderator and referred to McCain as Senator when thanking him for debating.
