McJoetheplumber was a loser! Still grouchy, old man. Poor thing!
Oh, this was HILARIOUS. Anderson Cooper just asked David Gergen, ok, if you were advising John McCain what would you tell him to do starting tomorrow aside from claiming to have won the debate. How does the race change now for John McCain?
Gergen: "Beats the hell out of me"
He then said that he thought McCain would regret this, but McCain said in advance that he was going to go out and whip Obama's derriere tonight, that was his pledge, he went out and threw everything he had at him tonight, and it didn't work. The message out of these polls is pretty darn clear. Then Gergen started talking about he didn't know where you go from here. There's two things he needs to do at this point, one is do everything you can to save as much of the House and Senate for your party as you can, you need to see if you can leave this with your honor intact, go positive about what you do on the economy, and get rid of all this Ayers nonsense, its not really very relevant to the voters, they've been very clear on this.
Agreed... However, Mc is still gonna have Sarah go out there & say crap that he would like to. They're gonna keep her on Ayers & Acorn. They're gonna hammer the fact that O's spent more $$$ - dollar per dollar - on neg. defense ads. Ofcourse, they're gonna ignore the fact that 100% of Mc's Ads have been neg. And that, "my friends", is gonna be politics as usual....
So what? As long as she's not inciting a riot, violence or racial hatred (and if she does, and when she does, it alienates independents), let McCain's lipstick pitbull say whatever she likes, the reasonable portion of the American public judges the message by the messenger, and her credibility is frankly shot, and may be further shot if the Alaska personnel board's independent investigator releases his findings before the election (they've indicated he might), she doesn't even know that New Hampshire isn't part of the Northwest, nobody is going to give her that much credence.
She plays well with the Republican base and the lunatic fringe, and that's pretty much it. She scares a whole lot more. In any event, its about the economy, after all, no matter how much John McCain keeps trying to turn those pages.
He needs a macho version of Hillary's NH moment. Maybe break up a mugging, or elbow a boy scout out of the way and help a woman only slightly younger than himself cross the street.
I wonder what's Sarah's target gonna be tomorrow.... Ayers, ACORN, or is she finally gonna get down to the issues? (or are my dreaming?) based on Mc's latest flip
we'll certainly find out tomorrow. In the bottom of my heart I want this to be a competitive campaign based on issues. So I would love if McPalin would quick with that line of attack, but the O'Biden supporter in me says, "keep diggin McC."
Naw, she'll come out and if McCain campaign history (and hers) is any kind of an indication, she'll lie, she'll mock, she'll pander to the far right, and she'll find something new to attack Obama about, real or imagined. She's said it herself, she has nothing to lose. If McCain loses, she can try running in four years (as ridiculous as that seems, but self-delusion seems to be one of her characteristics). After all, all she cares about is her own position and political prospects, she clearly couldn't give a hoot about the number of Senate or House seats the Republicans are in danger of losing, assuming she's even aware of it.
Wasn't somebody trying to attack Michelle about Ayers? I hope this thing is over before the Sleeze Talk Express trys to run over Shasa and Malia
He was better than Tom "I'm a hack" Brokaw...so in the tank for McCain that he can barely say Obama.
Like one of the HuffPo bloggers said, the biggest losers at the debates have been the moderators and Schieffer, who I had a mild amount of respect for even if his brother, the unqualified ambassador to Japan, was a loyal Bushie. But after his showing tonight, I will never respect him again.
I really wish we could have a debate format that wasn't just glorified kabuki, futile though that desire will always prove to be in practice. For such a big brawny power the U.S. likes to think of itself as being, it sure bubblewraps its leaders come election time. And that sucks. What a bunch of cowards.
Glorified Kabuki? Now that's good...
CNN just predicted O the nxt Pres. based on their polls
No baby.... I'm counting eggs....
I'm not counting my chickens, but statistically, there's a far greater probability of an Obama win, and McCain's chances (not even taking into account his own poor performance, the relative lack of enthusiasm, democratic registration edge, GOTV edge, enthusiasm gap, the drag Sarah Palin is proving on the ticket, economic angst, Bush and Republican fatigue, Obama's money advantage, etc.) are markedly slimmer.
Every single battleground state is a former red state. Obama leads in the preponderance of them. Even if he lost every single battleground state, and only kept the leaning or strong Obama states, he would win. He's winning African Americans by an astounding percentage, he's winning Latino voters by a healthy percentage, he's winning Democrats, he's winning women by a good percentage, he's winning independents by a good percentage, and he's making inroads amongst white voters, male voters, and lower educated voters. And after three "lost" debates, McCain has a mere 19 days to turn that all around. Good luck. Ain't gonna happen.
By being a friend to Johnny should have disqualified Bob Schieffer.
xoxo Tom Daschale.
No he wasn't the dennis the menace Mr. Wilson, he was more like Gollum!!!!
We wants precious
The best thing about these debates is that EVERYONE is engaged in this process. I just hope the momentum sticks.
AS ALWAYS, IT WAS A PLEASURE WATCHING W/ MY FELLOW HUFFERS....
SEE YOU ALL AT THE POLLS.... TILL THEN...
My respect for Bob Scheiffer has went down for his obvious Republican tilt to Bob Dole and John McCain. maybe he just likes crotchety old dudes that are out of touch with the country's direction.
Schieffer was good except for I complained the whole time that he always let McCain get the last word. I just wish people would be fair!
is that a rule of debate issue or is this just a bias
