Politico:

On Sept. 24, Hillary Rodham Clinton received a surprise phone call from the man she's often denounced as an economic know-nothing: John McCain.

This was no social call, even though Clinton likes McCain enough to keeps his photo on the wall of her Senate office. The GOP nominee had already chatted with Bill Clinton about the mortgage crisis and wanted to pick the senator's brain about her new proposal to have the federal government buy up bad mortgages and renegotiate terms more favorable to homeowners on verge of default.

"McCain said he had been motivated by it, he was very complimentary about what she had proposed and wanted to know more," said a person with knowledge of the call.

Clinton responded coolly: "She didn't engage him, she just said, 'Thank you' and heard him out."

Odd. Perhaps we should treat this as a sign of the end times.

Divide and Conquer?

Don't start. Don't start Hillary bashing. Most of it must be coming from repug trolls. I've left my "primaries" animosity behind, so has every other real Democrat, I trust. Hillary is fine. Obama is fine. We Dems "is" fine.

Actually you're wrong - most of them are democrats and I actually think the majority of people posting at this place are either volunteers or being paid by his campaign.

But it doesn't matter anyway because we know they're associated with this place so they obviously used that picture intentionally.

I'm not sure who "his" is, but you undoubtedly mean McCain. I really don't think a lot of Dems are with McCain. (Hell, fewer and fewer repubs are with him!) I believe that Hillary supporters are better than the Rethugs would like people to believe. Hillary supporters are Democrats who happened to prefer her. Since issues and not reproductive organs matter, how could they not be supporting Obama? So,again, I think the negativity is coming from rethugs or "un-enlightened" Dems. (There are a few.)

Couldn't agree more! I doubt that Joe Biden has stopped being friends with McCain, and they've been friends for many MANY years! HILLARY CLINTON has DONE a LOT for OBAMA since JULY! She has criss-crossed the country several times over, made phone calls and has stood as a surrogate. Tonight was the ONE NIGHT in quite a while that I've seen her allow herself to be INTERVIEWED! Say what you want to after the election (I know you will anyway) but keep it off these pages until then!

What does IT MATTER that McCain called her for advice? He admits he doesn't know much about the economy and he still doesn't know much about the economy. Hillary gave him information. Bill gave him information. Enough of this 'secret information' gathering. Heck--Hillary contributed 2/3 of her campaign staff to Obama--what more does she need to do??

Now that they confirmed that his campaign is associated with this place I have a question for them.

Why do you still hate Clinton so much? You intentionally use bad pictures of her. Have you tried getting professional help for your anger issues towards women?

I keep flipping back to take another look at Hillary's picture. What's so bad about it? Actually, I think it's a beautiful picture of Hillary, and I've certainly seen much worse. Some of the pictures of both Hillary and Obama have been less than complimentary. I'm a woman, have been all of my life, and I'm generally very sensitive to sexism (not the fantasy, but the reality), yet I have not noticed that Huffpo has shown anger toward women.

I think maybe you're the one who's still harboring some grievances about Hillary's loss, and who seems to have some anger issues. I respect Senator Clinton's leadership in the party, and I respect her for the contributions she's made to our country. But Hillary is not infallible, and every time a criticism is raised against her, some of which have been warranted, it's criticism directed toward one person who happens to be a woman, but it's not an assault on ALL WOMEN, and any woman who sees it that way, in my opinion, is not very secure in her own womanhood.

Here is an example of your "unbias". Haha.

"so if he called Hillary, as you suggest, I'm sure it was only to ask to speak to her husband."

According to this article, O as well as Mcc are calling Sen. Clinton for economic advice. We know who is adopting her health care platform. Gee Hillary, maybe you should have run, seeing as how everybody is stealing your work.

It is wierd isn't it? Sorta' like how Hillary and McCain tried to steal Obama's campaign platform when they realized that their's wasn't working, or how Bush/McCain stole Obama's foreign policy ideas on Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Senator Obama has demonstrated that he has no qualms about surrounding himself with the brightest minds in Washington, and seeking President Clinton's advice on economic matters merely attests to this. Senator Obama, unlike his current opponents, is not so egocentric to believe that he can lead the nation and the world without the input and help of others who have in common with him the intellect, wisdom, experience and judgment to make a positive difference in our government, domestically and abroad. He is secure enough in himself to reach out to the best and brightest minds when it is warranted, and this is what a president should do. There's no question that America experienced one of the best economic periods during Clinton's presidency. Hillary's and Obama's economic policies were virtually identical, so if he called Hillary, as you suggest, I'm sure it was only to ask to speak to her husband.

I didn't suggest it--the author of the article stated it. Name one platform of O's that Clinton adopted or "tried to steal". I won't be holding my breath, because there is no such thing. By turning all things Hillary back to Bill, you are just showing your bias.

What really counts:

Intrade Political 'Securities' Percentage US$ Traded
Barack Obama to win 2008 US Presidential Election 82.6% $9.7M
John McCain to win 2008 US Presidential Election 17.6% $10.0M

Dear Hillary, with today's tight economy, I'm having trouble getting a loan. Have any suggestions? John

Exactly, have not seen where Hillary speaks the truth about McCain. No wonder why she and McCain were kinda cozy and she refuses to touch Palin.

Hillary will not speak about Palin for she has probably been feeding McCain some pointers. I wonder why she has not condemn Palin for her lies and conjuring up hate? Humm..me thinks she is way too cozy with John, otherwise why did he call her?

Two things:

1. How come all the stories that re-ignite the Clinton/Obama rift come from either Politico or NY Post? I sense another attempt to divide us. Don't take the bait!

2. Obama should totally call McCain on this gimmick. Maybe something like, "The one smart thing that John McCain has done this election season is to call a Democrat for advice."

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:54 PM on 10/15/2008

But he didn't call a Democrat...he called Hillary.
