McCain Calls Hillary Clinton For Economic Advice

On Sept. 24, Hillary Rodham Clinton received a surprise phone call from the man she's often denounced as an economic know-nothing: John McCain.

This was no social call, even though Clinton likes McCain enough to keeps his photo on the wall of her Senate office. The GOP nominee had already chatted with Bill Clinton about the mortgage crisis and wanted to pick the senator's brain about her new proposal to have the federal government buy up bad mortgages and renegotiate terms more favorable to homeowners on verge of default.

"McCain said he had been motivated by it, he was very complimentary about what she had proposed and wanted to know more," said a person with knowledge of the call.

Clinton responded coolly: "She didn't engage him, she just said, 'Thank you' and heard him out."

"Save your campaign funds, Obama raises more money and running against him will drive you into debt."

While I was already privvy to much of McCain's personal history, this month's Rolling Stone article filled in the last few missing pieces.

McCain was cut from the same bolt of cloth as Booosh...he's just another petulant, spoiled son of privilege totally unqualified to serve as POTUS. Especially NOW.

She LOST, remember? And it was because not only was she out-organized, it was because she took a top-down approach to support, while Obama took a populist, non-PAC approach. That was a good idea, too. And at the time, the economy hadn't hit the skids. The idea that change is made by changing the way things are done in Washington transcends any economic ideas, which will wind up being strictly a patch job on an unregulated business sector, leaving whatever her economic ideas or anyone else's short of the mark. But to eliminate the power of PACs and lobbyists in Washington would be a major policy change. Clinton should, however, get the chance to put into action health reform - in partnership with Obama- as Secretary of Health and Human Services, her primary interest anyway.

Hillary Clinton has triangulated herself out of a job w/the Obama/Biden Administration. She cannot stop.

She has also triangulated herself out of winning another Election in NYS, who will no longer be the Clinton PLATFORM for their ambition/agendas. New Yorkers deserve dedicated Senators who work FOR them -- not process every decision (voting for the Iraq War against our wishes) through the prism of their family business interests and agendas/ambition.

So much for the Republican Revolution! Things have gone full circle with the thugs who have robbed the country blind. AIG was accused of another taxpayer funded junket. This time they went on an $87,000 hunting trip in England. No bid contracts were awarded to favored contractors in Iraq. No bid contracts were awarded to favored contractors in Louisianna. Then came the bailout/rescue plan with no oversight. It was their last ditch effort to rob us again. Vote Obama for government accountability. When the record of the outright thievery of the Bush/GOP administration becomes a matter of the public record when Obama gets elected, America will think long and hard about electing them again.
