Politico:

On Sept. 24, Hillary Rodham Clinton received a surprise phone call from the man she's often denounced as an economic know-nothing: John McCain.

This was no social call, even though Clinton likes McCain enough to keeps his photo on the wall of her Senate office. The GOP nominee had already chatted with Bill Clinton about the mortgage crisis and wanted to pick the senator's brain about her new proposal to have the federal government buy up bad mortgages and renegotiate terms more favorable to homeowners on verge of default.

"McCain said he had been motivated by it, he was very complimentary about what she had proposed and wanted to know more," said a person with knowledge of the call.

Clinton responded coolly: "She didn't engage him, she just said, 'Thank you' and heard him out."

Wow! That's a new tactic! You not only don't post my comment, you delete the one I was replying to! This won't go unnoticed. As a life long liberal, I'm asking you: what do you think that accomplishes?

Wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall in the Clinton house after Hillary gets off the phone with McCain and she tells Bill what just happened?

Someone please tell Hillary to have Senator McCain call my house. I'll go over my budget line by line, then I'll conference call my mother and she can go over her budget with him. One of our neighbors owns a small business. We'll give Senator McCain his number so he can talk to him, too. If Senator McCain spent more time actually talking with the middle class and poor, rather than the elitists and idiots on his campaign staff, he'd learn a lot about real-world economics. But if the last debate was any indication, he'll make like the wind to escape us great unwashed masses.

Figures he has to go to a Democrat for answers.
What's even funnier is that if he wasn't running against Obama, he'd have probably gone to him! ha ha
I hope this is brought up tonight!

So everyone is just copying Hillary Clinton. If she is such a visionary leader then why did she spend so much time throwing the kitchen sink?

Hillary Clinton is one smart lady. That McCain called her shows his desperation. I think it is a lack of self respect to have to go to a democrat and I hope she didn't help him. I also wonder if this is a true story. Don't diss HRC,. please.

I don't recall when McCain in Nashville, first introduced his plan to help families facing foreclosure, giving Hilary any credit for the idea or proposal. He said it wasn't Bush's proposal, was not Obama's, that it was his. The man is shameless!

No surprise here.

McDoesn't-HaveA-Clue wasn't lying when he said that the economy wasn't his strong suit.

Let's go, America... Wanna see a final nail in our coffin?

Elect these two wannabe's, and you'll get your wish!

Thank goodness the majority of us aren't that stupid.

Thanks for the lift from the Karl-Rove-Politico blog. In a piece that was disguised as unbiased political commentary, they managed to a) attack Obama and paint him as a Clinton wannabee b) did not discuss the 98% of issues which Clinton and McCain disagree on c) did not point out anything about John McCain ludicrous economic plan, which centers on the rich and capital gains and d) did not mention that Hillary and McCain have both run disasterous campaigns And in answer to the Hill-disciple who asked if Obama couldn't come up with his own ideas... I ask this: if you can't run a campaign or even come up with a consistent message or belief, how is it that you expect to run a country?

Politico also failed to mention the main issue between Hillary and John - her votes. McCain is trailing Obama by double digits among female voters. Nice try Karl. You used to be better than this.

Very cute Sen. McCain. Hillary Clinton is not Sarah Palin! She's a smart woman, smart enough to know that your "call for advice" was to set her up for a quote for tonights debate.

Anyone want to take bets that he references his "conversation" with Sen. Clinton about his mortgage proposal at tonight's debate to try and score points with bipartisanship and the Clinton (good economy) name.

Here's Another $7.00 that he loses this, " the Last " Debate!
