I Like ItI Don’t Like It

The disdain for Obama is nearly dripping from McCain's mouth.

"I admire so much Sen. Obama's eloquence," he said, "and you really have to pay attention to words. He said we can 'look at' offshore drilling. You got that? 'Look at.' We need to do it now."

He then criticizes Obama for never traveling to the southern hemisphere, citing it as a reason why he doesn't support the Colombia Free Trade Agreement.

"Maybe you ought to travel down there and visit them and maybe you can understand them a lot better," McCain said, disregarding the fact that his running mate has only been to two other countries and just recently got her passport.

As Obama gave his response, McCain rolled his eyes dramatically.

I thought the best moment was when he mentioned Colombia and the free trade agreement that he supports. He reminded me so much of George Bush Jr. when he thinks of a point which is so clever. He was truly proud, but was quickly cutdown by Obama when he spoke of the civil rights that are needed there. It was classic. From pride to shame in mere moments. Absolutely hilarious.

After seeing this, I understand why McCain would not be the best to have across the table during negotiations with not so friendly leaders in the world...

My favorite question was when Schieffer asked McCain if Palin was ready to be president. McCain needed to be honest and say "of course not" but he chose to lie and some huge lying he did.

Republicans have a choice, they can try and help "save" McCains "honor" and loose a heckuva lot of senate seats or they can cut him out clean like the "dead weight" he is and try to save their senate pals.

McCain is angry and disrespectful, period. But the good news is the American people are on to he and his ilk.

Taken from CNN.com at 9:03 PST

Who fared better in Wednesday's presidential debate?
Sen. John McCain 16%
Sen. Barack Obama 81%
No clear winner 3%

I could also hear McCain sigh a lot. He did that last week as well. It reminds me of when Poppy Bush checked his watch in '92.

Why does Rachel like Pat Buchannon so much? He is like a freaky Sarah Palin stalker. He just can't get it through his head that she is a huge reason for MCCain's demise. People could actually handle a MCCain presidency but just can't get over her.

I disagree. I think Maddow is just an extremely well informed, very classy, very gracious lady who truly appreciates humanity. She, like Obama, maybe even more forcefully, can take down and refute a false equivalency better than almost anyone. Jon Stewart has this talent too of being truly nice to absolute douchebags!

He's been forced on him. He is ridiculous and just makes her look better. They have a history. He speaking of gay rights really offended her when she was young and caused her to become political.

For all of his money, his 14 houses and 7 cars, and a beer heiress for a wife, McCain has appallingly bad manners.

That just goes to show you that he wasn't brought up with discipline and respect for others. He was a total brat that got away with too much and that's why he's the immature old man that he is now.

If I hear McCain say - one more friggin' time - that Obama is going to raise taxes, I will scream! He obviously doesn't listen to Obama's platform, so how could he really debate him? All he has are attacks - which Obama nicely diffused tonight.

The statement "raising taxes" is like telling a redneck he'll soon have a black family living in his garage. There are some people in the country who eat this stuff up. It's a blatant lie, but one that makes a lot of people comfortable, because it's easy to vote against -- and then justify it later to your stupid reactionary friends.

even my very intelligent boss continually claims that Obama will raise taxes for me and him, knowing full well that I don't earn anywhere near $250,000 and also aware that he pays himself and his wife a salary totaling about $100K. Perhaps the business does net over $250,000 and that is what he is complaining about, but I cannot relate to the statement!

I spoke to my Dad after the debate he has been waffling back and forth and I asked him, "so you going to vote for Obama now" ? My Dad an otherwise good and decent person said no he just couldn't bring himself to vote for a black man. Don't assume Obama will win Vote take a friend or 10 because my Dad has friends who think exactly like him.

"...My Dad an otherwise good and decent person..."

Ummmm no. A good and decent person doesn't have this hatred/nonense in his heart. And I am speaking as a 51 year old white man.

This 59 year-old former Republican might point out that John McCain and Barack Obama are both half-white.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:07 AM on 10/16/2008

yeah that pretty much disqualifies him from being good and decent.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:11 AM on 10/16/2008

Right. Anyone who says they just can't vote for a black man is still a rascist though he say it nicely. Still, what goes on in that voting booth may surprise a lot of people.

Do you think that maybe your dad will decide while in the voting booth that the country's future might be more important than his fear of a black president?
I'm really curious because I'm canvassing voters in PA that feel the same way and I think (hope) that maybe they will decide their intellect rather than their emotions.

Your argument is moot. People DO NOT donate to a candidate they don't support and are not thinking to vote for. He has 3 times the donors and money that Mc has. Repbs want to create doubts on people's mind, it WON'T work this time.

Did you notice how angry and downright jealous McCain was of the ability of Obama to spend so much money on ads? I thought that was real poetic justice since before Repugs could always raise more funds. This aspect is truly a reflection of the power of the little guy multiplied by millions!

I think it's courageous of you to write of your dad, whom you obviously love. It's so extremely sad and heart-sick-making to know there are people who feel this way in the states in 2008. I come from East Texas where racism was a way of life, I know--but I have not lived there since the 60's . HOW can people still think like this, no matter their early training to believe such evil things?

Well........thanks for encouraging people to work all the harder to make Obama our next president.....our country cannot do without him.... go online and work the Obama-Biden phone-bank.......hold your own fund-raiser project via his incredibly well organized web site.....keep sending in all the money you can......talk to everyone you know who might be on the fence or even Republicans who obviously cannot say the last 8 years have been fiscally "conservative"--squandering resources is not in the old canon. We need a landslide and I think some Republicans could still be persuaded.

He did not go after McTemper and Miss Moose, because he respects the PEOPLE of this country. He respects the office he is running for, for him this is not a childish game, as he said tit for tat. He is not only brilliant and a class act, he is totally presidential.
