Nikkei Index Plunges More Than 10 Percent

TOKYO (AP) -- Japan's key stock index has plunged more than 10 percent in early trading following another dive on Wall Street.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 stock average nose-dived a staggering 986 points, or 10 percent, to 8,562 Thursday.
