I read this site daily. I saw this story yesterday and wanted to give so badly. I came back hoping to see an update on a main page. I searched for the story and was glad to at least see that a donation site was set up. This is my first post on this site ever. I just wanted you to know that I've given and hope that all of the energy I saw around this yesterday is still there.

I just donated to this site and it said "Thank you for donating to Iraqi fathers" I called code pink and let them know. (I also sent the link to Audrey at Code Pink and she is looking into it) Did anyone else get this? I just want to be sure the money is going to where it says it is - to Ms Voltaire. GLITCH FIXED!!!! I spoke with Audrey again who referred me to Dana in the New York (Code Pink) office and she changed the after-donation page to just say "thank you for your donation" and she assured me that even the donations that originally had the wrong message page after donation still went to Ms. Voltaire. Yippee !!

At this point in time, I am completely frustrated by the fact that ACORN has been so slow. I've checked several fundraising sites and you have to a nonprofit organization to collect money. I am sending a money order via certified mail or FEDEX.

I just want to help this woman and I just don't know what else to do. At this point in time, everyone who wants to give should just send her a money order as well. LET'S NOT LOSE THE MOMENTUM!!!

I spoke with Ann Sullivan in the Brooklyn ACORN office yesterday (718-246-7900 x 266) and have left her vm today. Since there is no info on either HuffPost or Kos about how we can click and send money to Ms. Voltaire I am going to FedEx a donation to her today.

I just called Ms. Voltaire and spoke with her. She was about to leave for the court house to get some answers. Unfortunately, I had a very difficult time understanding her accent and she was understandably distraught. What I gathered from the call is that nothing has been set up yet to get money to her. I told her that many people were trying to get money to her and she said that she needs it badly. She has 2 other children and is out of work now. I told her that I would send money to her home address and she said that was fine. It's the address that has been posted on this site:

I wonder if Ms Voltaire is a member of a church that would take the donations in her name and pass it on. Would serve as a charitable donation for those giving and she could get cash? I spoke to her and her brother last night, but didn't think to ask. I understand they are in court this morning. Hopefully they will get an extension on the foreclosure.
