Palin: "No Abuse Of Power At All" In Troopergate Report

A report released last Friday by the bipartisan Alaska Legislative Council found that Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) "abused her power" and violated a statute of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act -- an act, the report stressed, that "is not optional."

Since the report's release, the McCain-Palin campaign has been in full spin mode. ... But yesterday, during an interview with the local CBS affiliate in Pittsburgh, Palin stooped a little lower, stating flat out that the Legislative Council's report had found that she did not abuse her power:

PALIN: [T]he report that came out also was very clear in that there was no unethical or unlawful behavior on my part. ... No abuse of power there at all.

I just feel that to lie like this is inexcusable. To vote for someone who lies like this is even more inexcusable. How does a parent go about explaining to children why they should not lie if a child can point to a VP or President and say, "Well...well they do it and it's ok." What bothers me most is the people voting for her are the first to shout,"Save the children! " while they behave in a totally reprehensible manner that would shame any ethical adult. It is absurd.

Actually, I see more of McCain in that collection of traits...and he's got a 28 years on her to show it, which he does from very early on. Two on one ticket--and that's not counting their spouses--scary!

Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims.
The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.

Irresponsi­bility/Unr­eliability
Not concerned about wrecking others' lives and dreams. Oblivious or indifferent to the devastation they cause. Does not accept blame themselves, but blames others, even for acts they obviously committed.

Criminal or Entrepreneurial Versatility
Changes their image as needed to avoid prosecution. Changes life story readily
