I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Stay Classy Gop

Republican officials in Sacramento, California have removed highly offensive materials from their official website after just about everyone with even a vestige of class complained that the images -- which include a suggestion that Barack Obama be waterboarded -- were totally ridiculous. Through a spokesman, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger decried the materials as being "completely and totally inappropriate."

Apparently, the responsible party -- or at least the guy willing to "take credit for" the web images -- is Craig MacGlashan, the Sacramento County GOP Party Chairman. Prior to the removal of the offending items, he defended his website by saying, "I'm aware of the content. Some people find it offensive, others do not. I cannot comment on how people interpret things." Hmmm. Let's see. "Waterboard Barack Obama." How should I interpret that? How about, "Craig MacGlashan is a horse's ass?"

This is hateful and dangerous. Why would anyone even think that this was OK?

Will CNN report this? Doubt it.

No wonder this country is in such a mess when this sort of childish, schoolyard taunting qualifies as serious political/social discourse. Is this the best we can do when choosing our political representatives?

If there's an equivalent Democratic ad out there, I've yet to see it, despite the MSM's admonishment of both parties.

The MSM makes me sick with their faux quest for "fairness". Where on earth can one equate bigoted, hateful, personal, threatening attacks coming from officially elected representatives, to legitimate, political ads, that highlight the negative policy and issue differences between opposing candidates and parties?
It's like they want to compare a convicted felon, to a law abiding citizen. It's ridiculous!

Waterboard Obama? Waterboard Obama????

Gee, I guess I shouldn't be offended at such a statement since waterboarding isn't torture, right?

Unreal.

Plain and simple, racist hatred!

A true Christian would say, father forgive them for they know not what they do!

I predict that over the next few months (and likely years) every school aged child in America will be able to define the word "Indicted" when regarding the years after the GOP is out of power in D.C.

Oh yeah, that word is going to finally be used a LOT!

The valley is agricultural. The poverty and unemployement is among the highest in the state. Housing costs have skyrocketed. Schools suffer thanks to proposition that have allowed prop taxes to remain extremely low. Without decent schools people are left poor and ignorant.

Didn't McCain JUST say the rest of this campaign would be "respectful"?

Since I'm assuming he's not a complete liar, the only explanation is he has ZERO control over his campaign.

McCain - "Can't run his own campaign, but he'd be a great Prez! Super honest!"

On Nov 4, let's make the GOP, the Gone Old Party. Vote them OUT, in every ticket possible, it's the only way to get rid of the garbage and start fresh.

They don't represent anybody, but their loathsome, hateful selves, promoting and perpetuating ignorance among their constituents to get their "fear votes".
ENOUGH!!! The GOP bigots have no place in American public service.

LET'S VOTE THEM ALL OUT!

This type of rhetoric is going to be the fall of the Republican Party. They claim to be the party on the side of Christians, but Jesus would not behave this way or approve of this type of behavior. We should be focusing on helping the poor and protecting the earth.

Jesus would rise above the crap, maintain a positive, steady outlook and help all people whether they supported or spit on him.

..hmm, which candidate does that remind you of?

They don't see their behavior as being non-Christian because they think that evil things "sometimes" (though these days it's pretty much 100% of the time) must be done to achieve their "good" ends. Ergo, if lying, slandering, libeling and threatening Obama gets their party to maintain control of the WH (and later the SC), then they've done Jesus'/God's work.

For the evangelicals, it's about using whatever you can to subvert Satan. They are thinking on a level you are not. It's a dumber, baser, banal level devoid of thought and comprehension, but it's where they're at regardless. They get their license from a higher power that "tells" them through millenia old musty books that anyone or thing outside their circle is fair game for all the things they otherwise say they're against (which only applies to people/things in the circle).

So this is what the Republicans have degenerated into? Very, very sad and a total embarassment to this nation. As I live in a red state, I know many Republicans and I always thought that, perhaps we had differences of opinion about environment or social issues, but now I have to say the party appears to be the party of bigotry and hatred and we have nothing in common. I have tried not to blame all Republicans for the behavior of some, but as this wave of hatred continues unabated, I am deeply disturbed by their inaction.

Too much! And at a time when Callie fornia is about to BEG for federal dollars since they are billions in the red. Good luck with that. Too bad the GOP has pushed California into KKKvile.

No no no, don't give them that much power. This is just the sound of reasonable people abandoning the platform, leaving the 'redmeat base' without a babysitter.
