Press Release:

GLENN BECK JOINS FOX NEWS

Glenn Beck has signed a multi-year agreement to join FOX News, announced Roger Ailes, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FOX News. Beginning next spring, Beck will host FOX News Channel's (FNC) 5 PM/ET weekday program as well as a weekend show on the network.

Currently, Beck serves as the host of Glenn Beck, a talk show on CNN's Headline News which has grown more than 200% in viewership in both the 7pm and 9pm timeslots since its 2006 debut. He also hosts a daily radio show The Glenn Beck Program which is syndicated via Premiere Radio Networks to more than 300 stations nationwide as well as XM Satellite Radio, and ranks as the third most listened to radio talk show in America among adults 25-54.

In making the announcement, Ailes said, "As we embark on a new political landscape, Glenn's thought provoking commentary will complement an already stellar line-up of stars at FOX News"

Prior to his television career, Beck served as a talk radio show host at WFLA-AM in Tampa, FL where he took his program to number one within his first year there. He began his radio career in Corpus Christi, Texas as the youngest Top 40 morning show disc jockey in America at 18 years of age. Beck later moved on to become a top 40 disc jockey in major markets around the country, including Houston, Washington, DC, Baltimore, Phoenix and New Haven, CT.

Beck added, "I am thrilled and profoundly humbled to have the chance to bring my program to FOX News. Expanding my audience is exciting, but I'm really looking forward to joining Mr. Ailes and his world-class team."

A recipient of the 2008 Marconi Award for Network Syndicated Personality of the Year from the National Association of Broadcasters, Beck is also the author of the New York Times bestseller An Inconvenient Book - Real Solutions to the World's Biggest Problems (2007) as well as The Real America - Messages from the Heart and Heartland (2005).

FOX News Channel (FNC) is a 24-hour general news service covering breaking news as well as political, entertainment and business news. For more than six years, FNC has been the most watched cable news channel in the nation. Owned by News Corp., FNC is available in more than 90 million homes.

Beck is the sort of poorly-educated gasbag whose marginal vocabulary skills permit him to confuse "incident" with "incidence". (As my father scoffs: "Frequently mistaken, but never in doubt.") He will be a matching bookend with Hannity, providing FOX with yet another ludicrous talking head who substitutes decibels for reason. Not that it matters; after Obama wins, FOX will become little more than a repository of disenfranchised goons and bimbos yawping their impotent hatred to an audience of pinched-faced racists and bigots.

17 days until the Enlightenment!

CONGRATULATIONS! ! ! TO CNN and Headline News! ! ! For letting this one move on. I'm certain Glenn will fit in nicely with all the other non journalist, truth be damned, fair and balance.
Fox News = Entertainment (we must treat it as such)
Fox News= Irrelevant (marginalize them)

Thank you, I'm so tired of him lying and pretending he's an Independent, when all he does is bash Obama and praise McCain. I don't know what kind of Independent he is, but I bet he will fit best at Fox...

Funny, I don't see Lou as Fox material. Much of what he says I agree with but the "angry, old man" with a pretentiousness and condescending attitude doesn't work for me. He's joined the Anger & Divide Party. This country has to come together and get its senses back if we're going to be a world leader...

I used to watch Dobbs religiously, especially when he was defending Ramos and Campion, our convicted border patrol guards. That was a very short-lived love affair. Now, I can't tolerate his slant, bias and downright racism. He may be fooling some at CNN, but Mr Independent is a total baffoon in my eyes and I turn him off IMMEDIATLY when he comes on. Dobbs is no better than Billo or Hannity, if you really take the time to listen to him.

If you listen to Glenn, which I'm sure you don't, you will find that he is NOT a fan of McCain, but he is a fan of Palin. He's conservative, but a registered independent.

Perfect place for that craven right wing shill. Add Lou Dobbs and David Gregory to the fray and we can possibly clean up CNN and make a dent in MSNBC.

If CNN could send Lou Dobb along with Glen Beck to Fox they would probably raise there ratings and lower Fox's at the same time. Then MSNBC could send Pat Buchanan that would make a clean sweep and improve everyone's rating but Fox's.
