I Like ItI Don’t Like It

In a phone interview with CBS' Katie Couric, Joe Wurzelbacher said Barack Obama "tap dance[d] ... almost as good as Sammy Davis Jr." in their conversation. He also said he didn't actually make enough to fall into the group whose taxes would be raised under Obama -- but argued that it was a "slippery slope." Watch:

I agree with MyVesta that the comment by Mr. Wurzelbacher is racist. It is one thing to suggest that someone is tap dancing around an issue but to make this comment about a Black candidate in reference to a Black performer who began his career as a small child and faced discrimination and racism during his long and accomplished career is not only inappropriate but racist. It denies the realities that Black men face in this country. Sen. McCain's own patronizing, angry and condescending demeanor towards Sen. Obama during last night's debate (and the other two for that matter) is reminiscent of how White men historically addressed Black men--as beneath them, as ignorant. McCain frequently tells Obam during the debates that Obama just doesn't understand supposedly suggesting that he is inexperienced but given McCain's background and history of racist comments it is hard not to see this as a discount of Obama in the historical way that White men have discounted Black men. Obama may not have as many years of public service as McCain but he is an intelligent and worldly man. He has not only traveled abroad but live abroad. In contrast, Palin didn't even have a passport until about 5 years ago.

So, I keep running into links connecting plumbers and bankers?
Allegations that plumber pawn is connected to Charles Keating.
Plus unregistered, ...

Could be a fun day - if it's true, I need some of that liberal/comedy news bias tonight.

Keep looking for that liberal bias in the MSM - it just has to be there somewhere - doesn't it?

If the extra 3% on income over $250k is an issue for Joe, he has no business buying that company.

How ignorant is it to not understand that after what's just happened? Look at what crazy risk-taking has cost!

Guys with $250k plumbing companies did not get bailed out, Joe. You should save a little longer.

Have a look at the Toledo Blade
http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081016/NEWS09/810160418/-1/NEWS

1) "Joe the Plumber" isn’t a plumber - at least not a licensed one, or a registered one.

2) Court records from a divorce show Mr. Wurzelbacher made $40,000 in 2006.

In other words, this guy would really get the most out of Obama's Tax Plan, but he would rather vote for McCain because he thinks Obama is too "socialist".
Really a smart guy!

Who want's to be the one to point out to joe the plumber that unless he's done an awesome job of pinching pennies, there's no way he's buying that plumbing company now.

The Plumbers and Pipe Fitters union (UA) has endorsed Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) in the 2008 presidential race.

UA President William Hite said the endorsement was due to Obama’s record of service to working families.

Barack Obama is the UA’s choice because he has always fought for working people throughout his career and will do the best job of bringing badly needed change to Washington. Sen. Obama will help us keep existing jobs and work to develop new higher-paying jobs here in America, reform our health care system, fix our ailing schools and make sure that the pensions of our retirees are safe.

I thought Joe the plumber was a little squirrelly. Too glib, too pat, and not convincing.

He's "trying" to buy a business that makes maybe $250-$280 G, but he's worried about a 3% tax increase? If he's that strapped for money, he needs to stay on his tools, and let the big boys run the shop.

I used to work with guys that refused overtime because it put them into a higher tax bracket. In their minds, they were "working for the government", spending more time at work and taking home the same amount. All the rest of us were pulling in $10-$15G over these goofballs, but they never figured it out.

I used to tell the tax cry babies, "I would LOVE to have my accountant call me some day and tell me my tax bill for the year is going to be $10 million. I think I'd be sitting pretty, don't you?

Know what the brilliant "tax misers" would say? "No WAY would I pay that much. I'd rather be poor."

Okay then. Problem solved.

Actually, I thought McCain was a little "squirrelly" at last night's debate. Maybe he had a few ACORNs in his cheeks.

Unless Obama was warned that the subject of Joe was going to be raised in the debate a very interesting point is being totally missed. When he first introduced Joe Wurzelbacher McCain got the name wrong. Obama didn't. Which one do you think really cares about Joe the Plumber?

Joe's evasive on whether the McCain campaign had contacted him at some point. Also there is some issue with Joe about his past taxes, reported on another blog, don't know the veracity of it.

Clearly Joe to being glib didn't finish listening t what BO said about his plan on taxes for his taxs bracket.

And after all that's coming out about Joe he needs to cut his 15 minutes of fame to just that before something comes out he doesn't want too
