I Like ItI Don’t Like It

In a phone interview with CBS' Katie Couric, Joe Wurzelbacher said Barack Obama "tap dance[d] ... almost as good as Sammy Davis Jr." in their conversation. He also said he didn't actually make enough to fall into the group whose taxes would be raised under Obama -- but argued that it was a "slippery slope." Watch:

First, Joe must not understand that no one pays taxes based on one's gross income, You are tax on net taxable income. I hope Joe is not preparing his business accounting himself.

That was my first thought. Joe would have to bringing in a lot of money with his plumbing business. Of course, before he buys that business he might want to get his plumbing license.

Because we're tired of talking about Sarah Palin.
Why do you care, and why are YOU talking about him, if you don't???

I don't think this Joe the Plumber guy has a quarter of a million dollars to start his business. He needs Obama's plan. For him to say that he still doesn't get it is ridiculous. He knows that he is going to capitalize with this story so he'll side with the underdog to get the most attention. How dare he say that Obama is tap dancing on his issues when it's clear and evident. If you make more than 250k you will get a 5% increase in your taxes. Point Blank!!! Well, Joe..Say it aint so..You don;t make 250K.. So why are you acting like you are already in that bracket? Talk about ..you gotta walk the walk..If anyone is daydreaming here it's Joe. He doesn't even have a company yet so it might take him 5 years or more to see that type of wealth raining in. I believe that when this man enters the voters booth he's gonna vote for Obama. Because he needs the tax exempt, he needs the 50% credit, he needs the tax break, he needs the health benefits and he needs the education plan for his children. No matter how popular Joe The Plumber becomes in the end it'll take a lot of plunges and pipe cleaning before he srikes it rich and good hang with the million dollar crew. I hope he enjoyed his 15 minutes while it lasted. Like Sarah Palin he's going to be old news pretty soon.

Joe, you're having your 15 minutes of fame now, but be careful of what you get yourself into when it comes to politics. You're name is now out there and you're doing a lot of trash talking, but be aware that people will want to know more about you and are digging for more info especially since you're trash talking Obama.

It's now coming out that you do qualify for Obama's tax cut with your earnings, but you continue to talk trash. Why don't you ask McCain how much you qualify for under his plan....oops I forgot you can't because McCain doesn't have one.

I know one thing....I wish someone would say my whole name because I'm tired of paying rent with one paycheck and filling up my tank with the other. WTF? Where are the camera men? I'm ready for my close up......LOL

Please, brutha'. Joe the Plumber is 100%, born and bred republican. Here's a guy already speculating on the various ways Obama may, in the future regardless of conditions, disappoint him. The man doesn't make $250,000 and worries that a democrat is going to weaken his financial livelihood, but McCain, who claims $5 million to be middle-class to rich, is the more predictable and dependable choice. Give me a break. There is nothing undecided about this guy, except how he's going to leverage his new-found cause celebre into some TV deal.

Why do we waste time with this garbage? You call that a debate. What McCain said and actual reality are two different things. I happen to like Sammy Davis Jr. The episode off All in the Family with Archie Bunker was priceless.

""tap dance[d] ... almost as good as Sammy Davis Jr." " more "subtle" racism from the senior moments' team.

The more I read about this guy, the more I agree "Joe the Plumber/Joe Six-Pack" is a republican plant.

How pathetic.

Apparently, Joe dislikes taxes so much that he's had a tax lien placed against him by the State of Ohio in Lucas County, OH, where he lives.

MONETARY AMOUNT: $1,182.98 DOCKET/PAGE: DOC 460 PG 303
TAX TYPE: PERSONAL INCOME TAX

Should also come as no surprise that he's not an "undecided voter" as he claims, but is actually a registered republican McCain supporter.

Oh, and he's not even a licensed plumber.

NOW we hear the TRUTH from this guy ---"He also said he didn't actually make enough to fall into the group whose taxes would be raised under Obama". So what WAS that question... a "set-up"???

It would be difficult for anyone (even Obama) to fully explain in the few minutes he had...

So lets DO the math for Joe (since apparently he can't comprehend the plan for himself):

Obama said that under his plan, anything you make under $250,000 would be taxed at the current rate of $36%.... Anything additional (above) $250,000 would be taxed at a slightly higher rate of 39% (only 3% more!). So lets say your net earnings (after your expenses) is $280,000... Under Obama's plan, only $30,000 of that (the amount that is "over" $250,000) would fall under the 39% category... Wow, you would have to pay a WHOPPING $900 per year, in additional taxes (3% of $30,000)!!! I can see why Joe would be soooo upset... that's an awful lot of money to someone earning $280,000 a year isn't it?

Give me a break! $900 amounts to less than $2 per week.... "POCKET CHANGE" to anyone earning that kind of money!!! If I earned ("earned" PROFIT that is) over $250,000 per year I would gladly contribute an additional $900 per year to help MY COUNTRY and those less fortunate then myself (ie: starving children right here in the U.S.!!!).

In the infamous words of Phil Graham.... HERE are your "whiners" folks!!!

$900 amounts to less than $20 per week, not $2. Everything else is spot on.

Oh yes, I stand corrected... but still $17.30 per week is "chump change" for anyone earning that kind of income! For the starving family however... it's food on the table!

Bottom line is, it really would not make much of an impact on any business earning $250,000 or slightly above! Sure, if your business earns $500,000, $800,000 and so on, you will be paying at a higher rate overall (again 3% more than your smaller counterparts)... But jeeesh, I would think you could afford to put a little bit more back into the kitty (especially considering ALL the exemptions that your business gets that working folks DON'T) !

Thanks for noting that error!!!
