Madonna Hits "Emotionally Retarded" People At Post-Split Show (VIDEO)

The night after her divorce from Guy Ritchie was confirmed, Madonna slammed the "emotionally retarded" at during her Sticky & Sweet tour. Performing in Boston, Madonna introduced the song "Miles Away" (about a couple who grow apart) by saying, "This song is for the emotionally retarded. You might know a few people who fall into that category - god knows I do."

Didn't your mothers teach you the old adage "If you don't have anything nice to say about someone. . . "? It's OK if you don't find Madonna's music or physical presence to be inspiring for you, for there's no accounting for taste, but some of the comments made about her are borderline psychotic, made by people who are themselves repulsed by the fact that they too hear the tick tock tick tock of their own lives and resist the idea of growing older. A teasing sexuality has been a part of her public persona since her first album. She has redefined her image to reflect the vicisstitudes of her own life, the changes we all undergo physically as well as spiritually as we gain in experience. I can assure you there are MILLIONS of us who continue to be inspired by this woman who are willing to continue to take this journey with her, regarding her as so much more than a mere pop entertainer. As for her breakup with Guy Ritchie, it was an inevitability, but I hope that in the privacy of their own lives they have weighed their decision carefully and are truly acting in the best interests of their children. I saw the unhappy couple on TV last year at some red carpet/awards function and Madonna was horrible to him on camera - in his face humiliating him, no wonder he left.
