Earlier this week, Time magazine's Karen Tumulty reported on how Jeffrey Frederick, the chairman of the Virginia Republican party, gave GOP volunteers talking points on "the connection between Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden." "Both have friends that bombed the Pentagon," Frederick told 30 volunteers. "That is scary."

...

Frederick, for his part, is standing by his words. "It is just the hard facts," he told the Washington Post. Despite Frederick's outrageous comments, McCain is set to appear with him in Virginia on Saturday.

If this guy's eyes were any closer together, he'd be a cyclops.

His eyes seem a little close together. I can't remember what that's a sign of, but I don't think it's anything good.

Shall I compare thee to a rainy day, or, deceitful Ferangi with slanderous ways,

His wicked smile more like a smirk, in the end conclude Jeffery's simply a jerk!

It's likely to just get worse over the next 19 days. The right-wing has only two cards to play - go intensely negative, and prevent as many votes in liberal districts from being cast or counted. They are obviously superb at both tactics. We must stop them, fight them, every step of the way. This campaign is no longer about issues - don't think for a moment that we've got this sewed up. We must do everything possible to counter every measure they take.

And if Obama were to start campaigning with Lewis would McCain start howling about how hurtful it is and how Obama has still not repudiated Lewis' comments? Of course he would.

But, but, but, John McCain thinks that Mr. Lewis is one of the wisest men in Congress. He would turn to him for advice. He said so out at Saddleback church, if you recollect.. Lewis' advice was for John to quit making nasty divisive attacks and concentrate on issues. Now all your wonderful folks are attacking Lewis, John's goto man

Not exactly the same as trying to link an American running for President of the United States to Osama bin Laden. If you can't see the difference, then you are definitely voting for the right party.

I did some volunteer work this morning at my local Democrat Party office. (I am in North Carolina). While there...I answered a call from a local woman who had just received a recording from the RNC. The recording told her that 'Barack Obama associates with known terrorists, who have bombed the Pentagon, and children....and if the Democrats are elected, there will be an extreme left agenda forthcoming.' (Isn't this what Mc 'repudiated' last night?)

She was offended and outraged! After we spoke...she called the local office for the Republican Party...where she was greeted with a barrage of insults, finished off by a 'you must be one of those radical left wingers yourself'....this time she was mad enough to offer to VOLUNTEER FOR THE DEMOCRATS! So.....McCain can keep spreading the message of hate and division...but us country folk in North Carolina are going to vote for the man who is ready to apply a soothing balm of civility and decency, and give back the once chaste reputation of the United States.

BTW - early voting opened today...at 11am I submitted the 414th vote in a town with one stoplight....and there was a line behind me.....

NC goes Blue!

Jeff Frederick: Least Effective... Again Non-partisan business group name GOP Chairman Least Effective Legislator in Virginia September 10, 2008 The Virginia Foundation for Research and Economic Education released its annual report on the General Assembly today, ranking state lawmakers on their business stewardship, voting percentages, and general effectiveness. For the second time in three years, Del. Jeff Frederick ranks dead last in effectiveness, with a score of 42 out of 100 possible points (down from a 43 in 2007). That's lower than 138 legislators - Democrats and Republicans, Senators and Delegates alike. In 2006, Frederick clocked in with a rock-bottom 28 points.
