I Like ItI Don’t Like It

John McCain put out a one-minute ad Thursday morning that is noteworthy on a number of fronts: the Senator speaks directly into the camera, he admonishes the Bush years, and he never mentions Barack Obama by name.

Tilted "Fight," the spot seems transparent in its purpose: paint McCain as the candidate railing against Bush's record and Obama as the product of D.C. Note the quotes he highlights in the script.

"The last eight years haven't worked very well, have they?" the Senator says. "I'll make the next four better. Your savings, your job and your financial security are under siege. Washington is making it worse -- bankrupting us with their spending. Telling us paying higher taxes is "patriotic"? And saying we need to "spread the wealth around"?"

It's interesting to note that hours before the McCain camp put out this spot, Barack Obama's team had an ad of its own reminding voters that the Arizona Republican has supported George Bush 90 percent of the time, often on the vital issues.

That ad, and McCain's record, have made it difficult for him to effectively break from his party leadership. It's hard to imagine that he will be able to do so in the next three weeks.

McMock just doesn't get it. In this ad he is suggestion that the poor or working class should not get a tax break or there shouldn't be a redistribution of wealth. This is an ignorant thing to say. Please media call him. We do not have another debate and it is up to you all to call him this and Sarah Surrogate on the unethical charge she face in Alaska. Let us see you do your job mr/ms media.

Trying not to sound angry he sounds like Mr. Rogers.

McCain keeps criticizing the phrase - "spread the wealth around"?"
Meaning directly to the American People, that with his tax cuts for the upper class, he actually is clearly stating that he WILL NOT SPREAD the wealth around and instead favors and will promote consolidating Even MORE wealth in the hands of the few wealthy like himself at the top.

McCain is actually in the top 1% of wealthy americans. he and his wife combine for $140million dollars in assets and cash, with a steady stream of high income.

HOW, Mr. McCain? HOW will you do these things?

Redistribution of wealth is nothing new. It's just that the redistribution goes in opposite directions when you compare the two candidates.

What's sick is that there are scared people - truly terrified people - who will believe this ad. If he wins, I pray that he's not as snaky as he comes across in the debates.

I don't understand why politicians have to say they approve the message when its only them talking. We wouldn't believe they approve the message if they don't tell us they do? ?????

Mc.C:

"Sen O has repeatedly said he will associate with, and even collaborate with, unrepentant Republicans, the same Washington insiders who got us into this mess."

Wait - drilling for oil here will lead us to energy independence? I sure wish he had been in government the last 3 decades - we could have avoided this whole mess. Thank goodness he's here now to lead us.

I'm not sure he has any personality at all.

At this point, he's just a puppet whose strings are being pulled by Rove and Co.

"The last eight years haven't worked very well, have they?"
There are so many videos and comments of McCain supporting GW Bush that this strategy will burst in flames. Roll the film director.

Bush proved to be toxic in relationships with world leaders. McCain has demonstrated how he will deal with others - Imagine McCain at a G8 summit, sitting with world leaders, rolling his eyes and mocking with sarcasm. ...............

It was a polite way of saying... he is not Bush, that is right...
He is McCain... Bush is like McCain?

I am beyond tired of hearing McCain promise things will change simply because he says they will. "I know how to win wars. I know how to find bin-Laden. I know how to fix the economy."

Specifics? Anyone ... anyone?

And what's with that annoying Dan Rather whistle on the sibilant syllables?

How stupid does he think we are?

Maybe the next ad will say, "I'm not David Duke - Obama is."

Hey John McCain, when are the Bush tax cuts you support going to start trickling down? We're still waiting.
