I Like ItI Don’t Like It

It's always interesting to watch the spousal body language after a debate, and last night was no exception. Though the candidate couples didn't linger as long this time, we still grabbed a few images for your analysis.

Love the photos! President Barack looked like he was in his happy place and didn't want to let go of First Lady Michelle. I love the much needed example they are giving the rest of the nation

The 4th photo is the most telling of all.

Every time I see the Obamas together, I think of Al and Tipper Gore. The Gores also make me smile with their PDA. The Bidens are also pretty cute too. PDA=Presidential Display of Affection!! :-)

She like "get a room'. She's jealous. She never seen a man look at his wife that way. She's never felt what it's like to be truly appreciated. She's married to McCold, McRude and Mc A $$! All rolled up in one.

Cuz she'll never know how it feels to be looked at with the love and admiration the Obamas obviously have for one another. Sad, really.

Probably thinking, "Please get a room, you two!" or something like that. :P

But yeah, I wondered, too, when I saw that photo.

No doubt he treats her poorly. See the very last item at the bottom of the page: http://www.mccainhateswomen.com

#14 - 2008: John McCain says: "Cindy hurt her knee shopping so let that be a lesson"

And...I have read many accounts that he cannot stand how Sarah Palin cannot be controlled; he's used to Cindy doing (funding) as requested.

I have a hard time looking st him on TV, let alone imagining what he must be like up close. I dont mean that in judgement of beauty - but just that he's very repilian and darting and he makes me nervous.

I feel great compassion for Cindy. He cannot be an easy man to deal with and while she has had many many great blessings in her life, you get the feeling that she has paid for them a hundred-fold by having to put up with him. She always appears to me to be incredibly sad.

In that 5th pic, Barack looks like "Get away!" to McCain...lol....He looks kinda protective of Michelle or something.

LOL. His face says, "Diplomacy aside, I will DROP you if you touch my wife!!!... Oh wait, it's just a handshake. I'll permit that."

My boss mentioned this the morning after the debate. He said: "Did you see the Obama hug? It made me want to kiss my wife and tell her how beautiful she is. Did you see the McCain's? It was so sad."

It seems hypocritical to campaign with your wife, mention her in stump speeches, and be interviewed with her, then to display how you can barely stand to touch her. Barrack has shown a capacity to love and honor, while John has shown a capacity to play it up for political purposes.

Looks like McCain has a death grip on Cindy's arm in the 3rd pic-just like he's desperately trying to hang onto voters!

It's interesting to watch the whole thing. It looked like Sen. McCain saw Michelle out of the corner of his eye and started to go to Michelle for a hug and then when Michelle went to her own husband, McCalin looked confused and only then did he turn to his own wife Cindy. Very awkward and weird to watch!

maybe I'm reading too much into it, but in the 4th photo Cindy looks perhaps envious of the Obama's long soulful hug?

I agree. The McCains look so--awkward. And stiff...almost forced. Whereas the Obamas don't mind displaying their obvious affection for each other. It looks so genuine.
The 4th frame really does show the McCain's look of envy.

Cindy McCain is a pathetic figure. She seems like a basically nice women who is caught up in a nightmare. She doesn't seem to have self worth or self confidence. Also, it is obvious that she is either accident prone or is suffering from osteoperosis. Very sad person. She does not have the luxury to just be herself. Obvious from the attempt to look younger.

I agree. She's a very attractive wealthy woman. What in the world does she see in him? Is power that attractive?

Cindy does not appear very friendly to Gov. Palin. Jealousy? Not sure, but they should be showing a warm unified front.

That's what staying in a bad marriage does to you. It starts to work on you mentally then shows up physically. The slideshow of the McCain's is really hard to watch. In the fourth still, Cindy looks over at the Obama's with, I wouldn't say envy, but more like disbelief that two people can still feel that way about each other. Isn't he like 20 yrs older than Cindy? They've nothing in common. Never have had. As far as her suffering from osteoporosis, I think she's slowly fading away. Sad. She's probably a decent woman. You can't blame her for that man.

Notice how in the 6th photo, Barack is giving McCain a, "Dont even think of getting any closer to my woman." look?

That's classic.

By the way, what is that on McCain's wrist? It looks like a hospital bracelet.

I've always been struck on how the McCains rarely if ever look each other directly in the face. He's always focused away from her.

I feel sorry for Cindy.

In the first photo, McCain's expression is like, "get your a $$ over here. Hurry! Geez. Pain in the....Grrrrr". I bet he talks to her like that. I bet worse. Poor Cindy. She married McHorrible.

It's so funny how people will analyze something to death in order to read what they want into it. It comes to a point where people lack sense.... and it's embarrassing. Also, people can "act" however they want in front of the TV. It proves nothing.

I think Barack and Michelle most likely have a good marriage, but in these photos, except for the one of Barack standing next to Michelle, he looks sad and distant. He doesn't at all seem connected with Michelle in these pictures. Do I think that means they have a bad marriage? Of course not - he just finished a debate - it might be possible that he had a reason for looking/feeling distracted. haha

As for McCain, I think he looks happy and good-natured in these photos - and, notice that he's the only reaching out to the other party with a smile on his face. Also, let's not forget folks that due to trauma suffered as a POW, he can only raise his arms to a certain height, which might look awkward to those unaware. Also, he too just finished a debate, and some people don't feel comfortable displaying their emotions on TV.

The real truth would be to watch these couple when they are "alone." as this would be the only way to "really" see how they feel towards each other. None of us will get to do this, so none of us have the right to speculate or make judgments.

Michelle looks like a great support for Barack and they clearly love each other, including respect and cherish and all the good things in a marriage.

I can't even tell whether the McCains like each other. If I went strictly with the pictures, I'd have to say they hate each other and can barely stand to look at or touch each other. Cindy seems a bit envious of the Obamas.

In other McCain events, I have watched Cindy watch John: she watches him, smiles and sometimes seems wistful. I have to assume that it's John who can't stand to touch Cindy. Cindy does seem stiff in the hug though, so it's possible he gets cues from her and would prefer her to appear warmer. And of course, she watches him from behind so he doesn't see her doing that. He also seems so cluelessly narcissistic, that in replays, he probably watches himself, and expects all women to watch him as well, that he doesn't notice Cindy being rather reliant, emotionally, on him.

Radnip, that is how he was a youth. He was a hell raiser and girl chaser and often in trouble. He was a defiler of women and it did not change once he returned home or even after he married Cindy.

Cindy is wistful, but she should have known that if a man will do it with you, he will do it to you.

I am feel sorry for Cindy, but I am also feel sorry for sorry for the first John McCain that waited years for her husband to return home, just to be dumped for Cindy.

After ninety minutes of not looking at Obama, appearing angry, bitter, and frustrated, his smile at the end of the debate suggest he was just glad the torture was over.

Sad and distant? No, you're confusing that with passion and fire. Sometimes passion requires or displays no looks or expressions of love or enthusiasm. Other times, it's merely a matter of when you face a daunting task, like a Presidential debate, you find such relief when you embrace your mate and you just let out all the stress, the fatigue, the anxiety, etc. You just let it all filter out.

What Obama actually displays is such comfort with his wife that he can let it all go because he feels safe in his wife's arms and the world around him has been put on pause. That's passion dawg.
