In addition to launching a massive robocall campaign raising Obama's past association with Bill Ayers as a campaign issue, the Republican National Committee is out with a vicious attack mailer suggesting that the Democratic nominee is not just soft on terror, but willing to talk to terrorist leaders.

In a pamphlet forwarded to the Huffington Post by a Virginia reader, the RNC claims that Obama "thinks terrorists just need a good talking to." Obama has never said such a thing. Rather, he has discussed the need to open up diplomatic dialogues with heads of state, whether friends or foe.

The first page of the mailer contains a shot of a individuals standing at an airport window with a large plane outside -- obviously designed to evoke memories of the 9/11 hijackings.

"Terrorists Don't Care Who They Hurt," it reads.

Inside is a list of Obama quotes designed to paint Obama as a weak-kneed diplomat, too willing to meet "unconditionally" with leaders of rogue states.

"Islamic extremists want our laws changed, our culture destroyed and our families converted. We don't. What is there to talk about?" the mailer asks.

The ad amplifies charges that the RNC and McCain campaign have made against Obama in other forums, and comes amidst a veritable downpour of behind-the-scenes GOP attacks against the Illinois Democrat. In addition to the Ayers-themed attack, Talking Points Memo has documented four McCain/RNC robocalls running in multiple states:

* One that questions Obama's patriotism by saying he put "Hollywood above America" during the financial crisis.

* One that says that Obama and Dems "aren't who you think they are" and claims they merely "say" they want to keep us safe.

* One that attaches Obama to "domestic terrorist Bill Ayers," whose group "killed Americans."

* And one claiming that: "Barack Obama callously denied newborns needed medical attention by opposing a measure to force doctors to preserve their lives when they survive botched abortions."

If you receive any notable political mailings (from the RNC or anyone else), please let us know.

Cowards afraid of Face-to-Face discussion because they always lose.

So resort to ONE WAY Dirt Campaign that will Backfire just like they did the Last two weeks!

McCain has lost all SELF-RESPECT!

What is wrong with these people (GOP). You've lied, cheated and stolen you way thru the last eight years and that's not enough. You want more and are willing to do, say and act anyway to get it. NOT THIS TIME! I'm more afraid of those who support McCain/Palin than I am of Obama.

You weren't waiting for McSame to use IDEAS as a base for his presidency, were you? That would be outright stupid! He doesn't have IDEAS... he has hate and defamation as the cornerstones of his campaign. Lies, libel, ridiculous statements... that's the Mac's plan. For you and I... well, lucky us, we get FOUR MORE YEARS OF DOMESTIC TERRORISM IN THE FORM OF THE RETHUGNICAN PARTY!
The best news is... he won't be able to pass ONE SINGLE BILL... and likely the Congress and Senate will be VETO-PROOF! It may be "nice to be king"... but it must be hell to be a token in a game.

The best thing about this campaign is the de-construction of the myth/marketing of John McCain. Honorable: not now, not ever.
Leadership: All he has shown us is a follower
Experienced: We have seen how you function in a crisis, and it doesn't increase anyone's confidence.
Independent: Come on? what?

It's "Christian" extremists who "want our laws changed, our culture destroyed and our families converted".

"The new tune which was to be the theme song of Hate Week (the 'Hate Song,' it was called) had already been composed and was being endlessly plugged on the telescreens. It had a savage, barking rhythm which could not exactly be called music, but resembled the beating of a drum. Roared out by hundreds of voices to the tramp of marching feet, it was terrifying."

When Harry Truman was running for office in 1948 he gave rousing stump speeches - people yelled "Give'em hell Harry." Truman responded "I will just tell the truth and they will think it is hell."

The Republican National Committee does not have the honor of Truman. They would lie about anything - they are desperate. This will not be a repeat of 1948. .......................

The bigots and looters are driving responsible citizens out of the Republican Party.

Soon, decent people will be ashamed to be associated with the party of Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt.

Too bad they're 8 years to late on being ashamed. If they had been wlling to take an objective look at what their party was doing and how it sabotaged the Christian values it claimed to uphold but hypocritically undermined so flagrantly only self-delusion or willful ignorance could permit anybody to believe them.

McCain whined because Rep Lewis told him the truth and it hurt his feelings. Well McCain truth hurts and your supporters are not the Christians they so proudly claim they are.

I cannot believe that all republicans would be a part of something like this. These kinds of things are being done by adults, who profess to be christians, but who are actually the wolves in sheep clothing. What is spiritual about this kind of stuff. These guys are desperate and I wonder if they ever ask themselves if they will be able to live with themselves when this is over. This is a disgrace. If this is what the republicans are about, I'm scared for the lessons that they are teaching their kids. I bet these jokers are sitting up in church every time the door is open.
