This was not his sickest moment. That came when he stated concerning thre racist slime exhibited at the McCain and Palin rallies that he was prouid of those supporters.
I have seen many elections, but none as filthy as this one. But I suppose thaat McCain realized long ago that he had no chance to win honorably. And it seems that he'd rather lose his soul than an election.
He'll lose anyway. So he threw away honor and decency for nothinng.
Still it is good for us to see this willfully ignorant and bigoted side of the American character. We have shown it abroad all too often.
We have needed some power to give us the gift Burns asked for in "To a Louse": to see ourselves as others see us!
He has absolutely no sense of timing whatsoever. Wrong man at the wrong time on the wrong side of history in the wrong party aligned with the wrong president...I'll be so glad when slips back into the obscurity of the Arizona desert where he can bbq cacti in peace, so we never have to look at that crumpled old body or those beady old eyes again.
His eyes ARE creepy...they look glassy and watery and just weird!!
Dear truth_at_bugmenot,
First: Rev Wright. We know. Every one knows. We are not stupid. We just do not find Wright to be a disqualifier.
Second: Ayers. We know. Every one knows. We aren't stupid, we just aren't buying into the nonsense.
Third: Rezko. We know. Every body knows. We aren't stupid, we just do not find the association to be of a character that rises to the level of disqualification. You remember incidents that do not rise to the level of disqualification, like Clinton's impeachment or McCain's Keating involvement.
Fourth: ACORN. We know! Every one knows! We are not stupid, we just realize that ACORN is a victim in the "scandal", not the perpetrator.
So it comes down to this... in your view these things are damning but we, and thankfully the majority of the electorate, do not share your view. It is not that we do not know about these things. It is not that they haven't been covered enough by the media (they have, ad nauseum). They just do not indicate some deep problem such as they do to you.
Defeat tastes like s**t , huh Senator McCain?
It is an automatic response when an intelligent human hears the word LIBERAL.
Now pay attention there may be a quiz.
Â
George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years.
The first six the economy was fine. A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 +
5) American's were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations, living large!
DEMOCRATS convinced Americans to want 'CHANGE!'
They voted for and got a 2006 Democratic Congress and we got 'CHANGE'!!!
Â
In the PAST 2 YEARS, BECAUSAE OF DEMOCRATS
1) Consumer confidence is now low
2) Gasoline is over $3 a gallon. Diesel about $4.
This caused nearly everything to double in price
because trucks deliver the stuff run on diesel
3) Unemployment is up to 5.5% (a 10% increase!
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by
$12 TRILLION DOLLARS and prices still dropping
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) THE DOW is probing another low. Â $2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM Â Â Â
THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS.
7) Your 401K plan has been changed to a 201K plan.
YES, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE...AND WE SURE GOT IT!
THE PRESIDENT HAS NO CONTROL OVER THESE ISSUES...
ONLY DEMOCRAT CONTROLED CONGRESS DOES
WHAT HAS THIS DEMOCRAT CONGRESS DONE IN TWO YEARS?
Â
RUINED THE ECONOMY
I would love to hear Nancy Pelosi's speech again about what the Democrats are going to do in the first 100 days (if elected) under her leadership to straighten out the first 6 years of the Bush Administration, which were so terribly damaging to the nation, etc. Play it again, Nancy!
Ever hear of the fillibuster, and not having a fillibuster proof number to override. Also being forgotten is the conservative demos who vote with rethugs. Repubs set a record for fillibusters, vetoes, etc. Bush used vetoes more than the last three presidents. Bush also made liberal use of signing points, given himself the authority to do that. Yes, deregulation made things look good for awhile, but then eventually you have to pay the piper. Read Kevin Phillips who predicted this outcome. Phillips is a Republican who knows the Bush family and named the problem and the outcome long before it happened.
It must be so sad to be as ignorant as you two are--I bet you voted for the war criminal Bush twice, didn't you? Or are you still too young to vote? The good thing about finally having an intellectually and spiritually superior POTUS like Sen. Obama, is that his policies will even help the likes of you--I understand there are special schools that you may benefit from.
Obama/Biden '08!!
However, you seem not to understand that the Dems do not have a filibuster proof or veto proof majority in the Senate, therefore anything passing through by majority vote can, and ofter has been, vetoed by Bush, or filibustered by Repugs in the Senate. In effect, the Repugs are still controlling the Senate, and thereby controlling what comes out of Congress.
Nice spin mimple, too bad it is all b253sh78 and you went to all that trouble to use capitals.
This has been anticipated for several years. Too bad you weren't reading, listening, or using logic.
The democrats DO NOT CONTROL CONGRESS!
The GOP has absolute veto power.
Understand??????
I'm sure Jon Stewart will say something about this pic tonight. Lol.
perfectly said ...!!

Enough already, I can't get that image out of my head. Though I wouldn't vote Rep, I feel kind of bad for McCain in a way....at least he's got a good sense of humour. At least he didn't do the Gold-miner's dance.....
Please!!!! Put our thoughts to humorous Halloween one liners. As you say, McCain has a sense of humor. Me too. Let's have a Halloween contest for funny one liners to go with this pic.
A lot of people missed this:

Now, that was funny! Let's see more creative humorous output for this pic.
I don't know if anybody watched the dinner in NY tonight but man McCain was funny as well as Obama, to bad our politics can't just be two guys talking........I'm an Obama supporter, but McCain was really funny..but I did love Obama's jokes about his name, and him saying he was actually not born in America but on Krypton..that was funny..Obama 08
I saw it and I agree. McCain had me in tears with laughter. Obama wasn't quite as funny but still did a great job.
Obama/Biden 08 & 12
It was funny. It seemed to me that Obama was a little uncomfortable with parts that joked about economic situations though.
I saw it, too. And, it is what makes our country great. I suspect in many other countries, especially the third world, if two candidates from opposite parties did this, no doubt one of them would be sent to the gulags.
This should be required viewing for everyone. If I had the resources I would pay to have it run on national TV during prime time. Yes, with commercials because I am a capitalist. But, the proceeds would go to the charity.
Both of these guys are good people. We are good people. We just have to remember that while posting scurrulous accusations anonymously.
I watched it, he was funny, seemed to be relaxed and having a good time. Maybe he should just do stand up comedy, sure suits him better than grumpy old politician.
McCain was really funny. Obama was funny but not as hilarious as McCain.
It doesn't change my vote but it was wonderful to watch. I really wish we could see more of this in ourselves. America is a great country. I wish we could stop focusing on what divides us and start focusing on what unites us.
Okay, now it makes some sense.
I could not figure out what the heck could have caused McCain to make such a gesture but the "caught himself walking in the wrong direction on stage" fits.
It's an expression of self-deprecation. While the photo might be embarrassing the context makes it reasonable and, frankly, a bit endearing.
I agree. The explanation makes it kind of cute.
O and Joe 08
Some serious Halloween one liners and some further clothing and props photo shopping would make it even funnier. Anybody heard of laughter? It's OK to laugh. It's even more OK to laugh when a famous person gives you such rich fodder just before Halloween.
