THE BEAUTY OF AMERICAN DEMOCRACY IS THAT PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES CAN ROAST EACH OTHER IN A NO-HOLDS-BARRED SESSION AND GET AWAY WITH BLOODY MURDER

By Hermie Rotea

Oh yeah, no kidding. Ask New Yorker and GQ.

On Senator John McCain -- He claims to be a Vietnam war hero. That's baloney. His captors released him from prison on a promise that he will ask his admiral father to lobby with the president to end the war after he is freed..

The limping ex-POW then decided to run for Congress. No problem. He divorced his wife and next married a millionaire. Campaign funds? No problem. Now that he is running for president he can't claim to work for the middle class because he is so rich he can't even remember how many houses he has.

On Senator Barack Obama -- What is wrong with calling him Barack Hussein Obama without being accused of racism? Isn't that his actual name listed in the birth certificate? His idol President John F. Kennedy was always referred to with his middle initial. His primary election opponent calls herself Hillary Rodham Clinton. Why is Obama afraid of his own middle name?

He is linked to unrepentant bomber Bill Ayers and Acorn that is suspected of cheating in the Nov. 4 election. They are downright lies. No connection whatsoever. He merely launched his campaign in Ayers' living room. On Acorn, he was merely its lawyer. He is an equal opportunity friend. What is wrong with that?

Cindy McCain being airbrushed is not the issue. The issue is her "patriotic" pins in blood diamonds. Remindes me of Marie Antoinette, "let them eat cake".

The criticism of Newsweek not airbrushing Palin seemed ridiculous, but Cindy McCain really deserved a better photo here. (Anyone can take a bad picture. Anyone. So the GQ political choices are pretty obvious.)

And Mayhill Fowler is the only Huffpo blogger to make the cut (along with Arianna, of course)? I know she brought us "bitter", but I was still surprised.

I want an extremely large copy of Obama's goose bump producing picture! Put it right out there on my lawn. I live in Texas. :-)

My favorite photo is the one of the Next Generation of Veterans for Obama.

Why is Cindy's pic so unflattering? Dumb decision by GQ.

i have a slow connection so i won'y check out the link.- but was limbaugh there? he, as the point man for the talk radio monopoly and it coordinated UNCONTESTED repetition to 60MIL 24/7, has been the most powerful political force in america the last twenty years.

Limbaugh is not there. There is a pic of Jerome Corsi looking like abigfatswine though.

Wow. That was not a flattering picture of Cindy McCain.

That was not a genuine smile. She looks more upset than happy.

Yeah, but it's not just about her age. The photo of Roberta McCain (who is really old!) was actually rather nice. There's just something seriously scary about Cindy: I think it's the dead-eyed look combined with way too much 'styling'...

Well she IS old!!!

Age, when it reflects character, kindness and wisdom is beautiful (remember Kathering Hepburn, for example.) What we see in Cindy's face isn't age, it's brittle and bitter, defensive and angry, and sadly, no peace.

that was really cool.

Poetic picture of Senator Obama. But, I don't think Cindy McCain had any friend in that camera. Wow!
