A day after The Washington Post's Dana Milbank wrote about how the Secret Service is blocking press at Sarah Palin's rallies, it appears Palin's staff is blocking her from listening to the press. Palin revealed at a fundraiser last night that she is in an ever-growing media bubble.

"So North Carolina, I appreciate you all so much, who are here who already get it. You know, maybe I'm preaching to the choir a little bit here, but being here encourages me because I know that I'm not alone and I'll send this message back to John McCain also. At those times on the campaign trail when sometimes it's easy to get a little bit discouraged, when, you know, when you happen to turn on the news when your campaign staffers will let you turn on the news," she said, prompting laughter from the group. "Usually they're like 'Oh my gosh, don't watch. You're going to, you know, you're going to get depressed.'"

She added that while she doesn't always appreciate the way reporters portray the GOP ticket, she's been bolstered by the prayers of many of the campaign's backers.

"But yeah, sometimes you do get depressed watching what it is that they're reporting and the spin and some of the distortion of what our message is and what we stand for. Sometimes that, that gets draining," she continued. "But it's at events like these and our rallies that we are so energized and inspired and we know that we are not alone. We feel your strength and we feel the power of prayer, so many of you tell us that you are praying for us and praying for our country and that's why we so appreciate you being here."

Palin also attributed polling numbers to God. "We even saw today, thank the Lord," she said, looking upwards and raising her fist, "We saw some movement."

In addition to the core platform & ethics questions surrounding Gov. Palin, the issue of Palin's "experience" vs. the other candidates (Obama, McCain & Biden) is we don't know who she is. She is not allowed to do interviews; she has not won one vote in the primary. She is not allowed to be involved in campaign decisions (What, we're pulling out of Michigan?). And now, they don't let her watch the news . . . wow!

Depressed at seeing how dumb she looks on t.v.?

I seem stupid enough on the internets, but were I, oh my gosh, on the news with that "gotcha" media asking me questions, about what magazines I read and such, and which Supreme Court decisions I could talk about other than Roe v. Wade (ed. for Chrissake you can't even name Brown or Plessy... really!)
I don't know if I'd wanna see that because oh Gee Willy, that might just make me feel all depressed and my Lexipro 'script is running low.
Long story short, this chick is dumber than a sack of hammers here are some instances: I went outside tonight and looked up at the stars, so I'm like an interstellar ambassador since I can see them from my porch. I also saw the moon, therefore I'm like an astronaut, and since I live in a college town and can see the university, that qualifies me to be a professor! AND to top it off, I watched a rock concert last weekend, so that obviously makes me a rock GOD/PROFESSOR/ASTRONAUT/INTERSTELLAR AMBASSADOR!

Sorry Palin, 2nd up in beauty queen and 2nd up in presidency, but I still PWNED you.

Though I've never been President, you can see how most people age during their time as President, the increase in gray, wrinkles and pallor due to the stress. Becoming President (especially at this time) is not for the faint of heart.

I don't want a Vice President who can't handle the stress; I can just see her "freak out" over the stress and push that RED button to end it all.

Given the high level of intelligence she displayed in her interviews, I can't imagine she has ever shown any interest in watching the news.

She is just the gift that keeps on giving. God is now polling for Gallup?? Comedy writers will have to start earning their paychecks again once we ship this lipsticked pitbull back to the Great White North. I look forward to the end of THIS one's fifteen minutes with great anticipation!

Lipsticked pitbull indeed... let's not malign pitbulls anymore than they've already been. SayRuh will never be as beautiful or faithful, and certainly not as intellligent as my pitbull Violet.

I would imagine there are those out there who have a low opinion of Pa lin's capabilities as a potential VP or possible POTUS. They may question her degree of knowledge and aptitude needed for such an important position. Of course this would wear down anyone's confidence. She can't help but feel a bit blue when a news report gets past her handlers and she inadvertently hears it. What she needs to do is take a page out of how GWB deals with the negative feelings and vibes, which for him are not just nationwide but worldwide. All you have to do is believe that you are right and everybody else is wrong. And if the facts don't fit your preconceived notion, well, you'll make those facts fit no matter what has to be done or at what expense.

Palin you have depressed us since your RNC speech. We are just returning the un-wanted gift - ten fold.

There is more to come... we are not done with you yet. When we are finished with you we will send you back to Alaska where you will be impeached a Governor.

We would have forgiven you but you tried to divide the American Citizens with race baiting and hate mongering.

If any one were too lose, (directly related to you and your rally hate speech) their life due to the fact of what you have said and how you promoted hate among the citizens - they will bring a law suit against you and rightly so.

She doesn't strike me as someone who would get depressed. Angry? Yes. Vindictive? Yes.

I agree. She doesn't seem introspective enough to get depressed. I don't think there's anybody home in there. Why is she so obsessesd with god and prayer. She should go get a job at the church of her choice....not government.

Don't you realize the RWers want to make the church your new government? It's not enough that they make rules that even they don't live by, but they feel the need to include everyone else in their misery. So much for separation of church and state!

This shrieking eel Palin lacks merit. She and McCain failed to distinguish from Buch/Cheney's doctrine of fear and hate mongering. She comes from the same group of people who have squandered the true American values of progressiveness, innovation, entrepreneurism, and liberty.

Her speechs have the nightmarish resemblance to Bush - Cheney with a bit of Carl Rove thrown in.

Those of you who are undecided and or still thinking that she and McCain will put country first, look again Palin is Ahmedinajad with lipstick. Right of the back she has already tried to start a race war.

We want and need a President and VP, who bring people together - NOT tear them apart.
