RNC Mailer Uses Prominent Clinton Supporters To Attack Obama

The latest anti-Obama mailer asks on its front page : "Barack Obama: What Do Democratic Leaders Really Think About His Ability To Lead?"

The pamphlet employs primary-season quotes from prominent Democrats who supported Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign to attack Obama's experience.

On the back, the mailer reads (somewhat repetitively): "A Sluggish Economy. Turmoil On Wall Street. Collapse Of The Housing Market. Do Democratic Leaders Really Think He Is Ready To Lead?"

In addition to both Clintons, the mailer features anti-Obama lines of various strength from Sen. Joe Biden, Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, and Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland.

The mailer appears to be distributed widely, with Huffington Post readers in Minnesota and North Carolina seeing the piece showing up in their mailboxes.

Folks, this is what these "Democratic" leaders REALLY think about Barack Obama. That begs the question: then why did they all lose to a first term black senator with the name Barack Obama?

What took them so long to do this particular smear? A well run campaign would have tried this--and failed at it--months ago, while the primaries were still fresh in voters' memories. I guess this is the latest lurch for the McCain campaign, still trying to find something to stick instead of having a good governance plan to talk about.

DEMS could do the same to McCain with quotes from the Republican primary! Still, I believe the attacks waged against Obama by Democrats during the primaries (some even worked with right wing media!) was damaging to the party. I said back then that we were giving the Reps too much ammunition. I guess Dems didn't believe he would win the nomination. Shame on them!
