Thousands Seek Flood Relief Money

Ernest Hill came to the Illinois Department of Human Services office in Blue Island Thursday morning seeking financial relief from last month's devastating floods.

What the Glenwood man says he got instead was frustration.

"I've been waiting here since 5 this morning, and I ain't gotten any closer to getting my money," said Hill, who spoke at a high decibel level and without taking a breath. "I'm going to be here until I get some sort of relief, and I don't care if I have to stay here till 9 o'clock tonight."
