ABC News' Teddy Davis and Julia Hoppock Report: The GOP targeted the so-called "Godless friends" of Elizabeth Dole's opponent on Saturday, circulating a YouTube video which assails Democrat Kay Hagan for attending a Boston fundraiser co-hosted by Woody Kaplan who sits on the advisory board of the Godless Americans PAC .

"Either she shares their views or puts money over her principles," said John Randall , the online communications manager for the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC). "Neither is a ringing endorsement for her as a senator from North Carolina."

INCOMING:

From the Independent Weekly, Durham, NC's alternative-newsweekly...

[ "...Both ads feature shadowy photographs of Hagan standing next to a nameless gray-haired man—presumably one of those atheists to whom the Democrat is allegedly indebted. He is in fact, Charles Frederick (Rick) Stone III, who currently studies theology at the Harvard Divinity School. Until his 2007 move to Boston, Stone lived in Greensboro and taught Biblical studies at Greensboro College, which is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, and Guilford College, which draws on Quaker tradition..." ]

Religion does poison everything. And the people who use religion as a wedge are worse then poison. If this keeps up in this country, it will become a country not worth living in.

Dictators the world over have long pushed Religion as the wedge into Common Folks' Hearts. They know that "If you believe that, you'll believe Anything!" When you can get the masses into a 'sacred' setting (cathedral, church, synagogue, etc.) and convince them that they won't Die when their Heart stops beating because a Young Jewish radical, two thousand years ago, made a deal so they wouldn't have to, you can lead them around by the nose!! Hell, they'll douse themselves with lighter fluid and strike a match if you promise them 'Eternal Life!'

Yes, if they believe that!!! They'll BELIEVE ANYTHING!!

Can't remember if I told you that:

I have moved out from

1 Beggars Alley,

located at 2 Poverty Lane ,

at the corner of Down and Out Circle.

As of today, I have a brand new home.

My new address is

Living Well on 3rd Abundance Drive ,

located at the corner of Blessings Street and Prosperity Peak .

It's in the God Can neighborhood.

No longer will I allow myself to travel to the other side of town on

Begging Peter to Pay Paul Route ,

located at a dead end intersection called I Don't Have,

which connects with Borrowers Junction.

I no longer hang out at Failure's Place,

near Excuses Avenue ,

next to Procrastination Point.

I've moved to an upscale community called Higher Heights with unlimited potential and opportunities for me to succeed. I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me!

Life is good because God is good!

Care to change your address? There are many vacancies!

GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS! I AM WELL BLESSED AND SO ARE YOU, in spite of temporary circumstances!!!!!!

DON'T TELL GOD HOW BIG YOUR STORMS ARE, TELL YOUR STORMS HOW BIG YOUR GOD IS!!

May God Richly Bless each and Everyone That Reads This -Please Keep it going!

The GOP has morphed into the Dixiecrat party. They are no longer relevant.

Chris Hitchins is right; "Religion poisons everything".

I never really bought it when Priests and Pastors said that the "common folk" should tell them what they wanted to ask or tell God, and they would pass it to him when they "speak to him".

I find it even more difficult to believe when it's a Politician selling the same line.

Church and State were specifically separated by our Founding Fathers for a reason. Seems that a significant portion of this country needs to be reminded of that.

As a retired, 65 year old school teacher, I'm not rich by any stretch of the imagination. But I just donated $25 to Kay's campaign to try and rid our country of this idiotic mentality in our government. I've also done so for other Democratic candidates across this country, as well as generously contributing to Sen. Obama's campaign.

I know times are economically tough right now for so many, including myself. But if we all dig a little deeper into what we have been blessed with, to try and yes, buy our Country back from these despicable individuals, just maybe we can make things better for generations to come.

This is the most serious election I've seen in my life-time. We MUST give Obama a mandate to assist in what he needs to do when elected.

Please everyone, do everything you can to make Nov. 4 the turning point we need, or otherwise, we're all duck soap.

God Bless each and everyone. YES WE CAN!

I smell desperate panic in the GOP. The fact that North Carolina is even in play tells the GOP they are in critical condition and aboput to go flatline. George W. Bush won NC by 16 points in 2004.

So Elizabeth Dole does not believe in a secular government ?

Or she believes in guilt by association ?

One or the other.

And either makes her Jesse Helms in a dress.

It's true. Jesse Helms was too mean to die. He simply underwent an artful transformation, paid for by an NEA grant. Now he goes by the name Elizabeth Dole.

As his wife of eons said, "It's no big thing."

Kay Hagan has a great ad that expresses why Liddy Dole should go: She is rated 93 out 100 senators in effectiveness; she voted FOR the Alaska bridge to nowhere, but AGAINST the children of NC families who can't afford health care; she voted with George W Bush 92% of the time; and she gets lots and lots of money from oil lobbyists. When Dole campaigned in 2000, Dubya came to NC to campaign for her five times. This time around he is nowhere to be seen (at her request). Dole's vote against health care for an additional 150k North Carolina children was the ultimate slap in the face. Can't wait to vote her out.

The most disturbing thing about Dole is she has spent less time in her "home state" of North Carolina in the past six years than Barack Obama. She has been exposed as a carpetbagger - not a great thing in the South!
