Don't get complacent!! McCain is gaining ground in polls and his supporters are starting to come out of the woodwork. Obama needs your help now more than ever!!! If we take victory for granted McCain and Palin will win. DON'T LET THAT HAPPEN!

Vote Early then go volunteer for Obama!

Speak with your friends and neighbours and get out the vote. Don't be afraid to engage them in issues you feel are important too you in the next administration.

Just a little.

He sure is! His comparison of McCain's allegation that people making mistakes when filling out voter registration forms is a threat to America as opposed to McCain's Republican Party violating the U.S. constitution and spying without warrants on the American people, packing the U.S. Supreme Court with conservatives so that they eventually ruled in Gore vs Bush 2000, that voting is a privelige not a right, the ruling in London vs Connecticut(or Florida, can't remember for sure) where the court ruled that private property CAN be taken by another private individual, and other horrors the conservatives have bestowed on America, is brilliant.

Dunno. He fell flat at the White House Correspondents Dinner a couple years back.

"Fell flat"?. The only reason he fell flat is because the audience at the White House Correspondents dinner were too embarrassed to laugh at his routine. The audience was comprised of Bush lackeys and media types who were still sticking their noses up the a$$ of Bush and his ilk. His routine was absolutely hilarious, one for the ages.

flat? i thought he killed it.

Stephen Cobert gave one of the greatest all-time performances at that dinner. Nobody, but nobody I can think of in my life time (61 years now) has ever spoken truth to power from that kind of a platform. He was standing within 10 feet of the King of America, Georgie Porgie Puddin' & Pie, duped the voters and made 'em cry. Jesus, he was great that night. Thank god (or whoever's in charge of these things) for YouTube, or I never would have had the chance to bask in the golden wonderfulness of his entire routine.

Colbert has been on fire the last few weeks.

OMG,,,, and McCain was the Keynote Speaker for ACORN in 2006.

BUT,,, BUT,,, the worst about all this is, it is against the LAW for ACORN to NOT turn in those Bogus Registrations.

They can only flag them as suspicious.

BY LAW.

This includes ones like, Richard Nixon (D),, John W. Booth (R), Abraham Lincoln (D) all REAL PEOPLE! I went to school with,,,, Harry Buts. A real Person. Gosh,, we sure teased him.

By LAW,, they must turn them all in.

This is not voter fraud.

This is a bunch of out of work folks hired out of a labor pool, cheating to get a bit larger paycheck.

McCain is SOOOO desperate.

At some point I begin to pity McCain. His handlers and advisors are destroying a once great man, as we look on.

Just sad,, soooo sad.

All the best

You act surprised!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:23 PM on 10/18/2008

Yet the corporate media says nothing about this. They act as though there is legitimacy in McCain's complaint. The corporate media never challenge the republicans on their lies. Fortunately, I listen to NPR (and get my news from multiple sources). Although they've moved to the right in recent years, NPR remains a much better news source than the networks.

Just for clarification, besides FOX or MSNBC, which ones are the "corporate media" and which are the "media elite"?

I am disappointed in Jon Stewart (not that he cares). In an effort to protect his career, he spends much of his time being gentle with Republicans and attacking Obama.

I am sure he is a decent person, but I don't think he is liberal. I think he is very much a centerist (Blue Dog) Democrat and it shows during such critical times. He was the same in 2004. He was pro-Hillary and against Obama during the primaries. He was gushing with admiration about a month ago when Bill Clinton was on his show. His guest list now seems to have more conservatives than liberals.

His jokes are frequently unfunny now. I think because he is calculating and probably rejecting many good jokes that are written for him.

There are rumors that he will be offered an actual news show soon. He may be protecting against being labeled liberal.

Thank you! I feel the same way about him. Seems dems want so desperately to have him on our team that we give him credit for liberal viewpoints and stances that he hasn't
actually advocated.

It really shows his lack of courage in his convictions when the actual time when his jokes and ribbing may make a real difference, is the time he decides instead to sudddenly become very neutral and nondescript. If Dems can't pick up on that, and especially Dems and Independents who have never seen anything but this sort of shirking and cowering from their supposed committments, then I guess we deserve to be snubbed and ignored.

While you're certainly entitled to your opinion regarding Jon Stewart's political leanings and how it effects his humor, I believe that you are incorrect to refer to him as a Blue Dog Democrat. Blue Dog Democrats are quite specifically a number of moderate and conservative Democratic Party members of the United States House of Representatives that has descended from the Southern Democratic 'Boll Weevils' of the 1950's.

I do share some of your general sentiment however, and often wish that Stewart's material was more aligned with my own personal political views ;-)

American comics to the rescue.
Thanks Colbert! lol

Thanks to the highly intelligent comics for being the real media in keeping Americans informed.

The mainstream media are filled with semi-illiterate morons who promote the government propaganda, which keeps Americans so ignorant that they cannot recognize idiotic leadership and the nation on the path of self-destruction.
