ACORN Offices Get Racist, Violent Threats After McCain Claims

It's bad enough that the employees of ACORN have had to endure days of baseless and outlandish attacks by John McCain and the RNC. But after McCain outrageously claimed before a national audience on Wednesday night that ACORN was "maybe perpetrating one of the greatest frauds in voter history in this country, maybe destroying the fabric of democracy," the group came under attack, literally. In the following days, ACORN's Boston and Seattle offices were vandalized and at least one employee received a death threat.

And for nearly two weeks, ACORN offices across the nation have been subjected to an onslaught of racist and threatening voicemails and emails. We have secured copies of some of the most disturbing and offensive messages and have reproduced them below in order to show the very real consequences of the Right Wing's overheated and misplaced "voter fraud" rhetoric.

This is why, earlier in the week, I donated $50 to ACORN. I've never donated to ACORN or any other civic group before, but I admire their mission (although perhaps they were naive about achieving it), and I know that they need the money to defend themselves. First of all from what I read ACORN is required to turn the registration forms in and the state then determines which appear to be fraudulant. My neice worked there this summer when she was on summer break from college, her job was to call the people on the registration cards to determine if the worker had actually taken the information from someone, if she got a fraudulent one she was to flag it and note the workers name, if that worker had too many unsubstantiated voter registration cards he or she was let go. This canvassing job is one no one wants to do, since there is so much firing and hiring she suggested my daughter who recently graduated apply for a job, my daughter did not want to work in the field asking people were they registered and would they like to register. Now it appears to me that ACORN is being ripped off by people who are lazy and dont want to do their jobs. And also if they register Mickey Mouse and he goes to vote he would not be allowed, so there is no voter fraud there is "REGISTRATION FRAUD" a big difference. We will not be bamboozled, hoodwinked or led astray this election RNC.

Republican "vote challengers" are using 62,000 home forclosure listings as a basis for disqualifying otherwise eligible voters. Their goals are two-fold: to knock people out from casting ballots, and to create a slowdown that will discourage others who see a long line and realize they can't afford to stay and wait.

A foreclosure notice is NOT sufficient basis for a challenge, because people often remain in their homes after foreclosure begins and sometimes are able to negotiate and refinance.

This "challenge" is likely to disproportionately affect African-Americans who are overwhelmingly Democratic voters. More than 60 percent of all sub-prime loans (the most likely loans to go into default) were made to African-Americans in Michigan.

CALIFORNIA GOP LEADER ARRESTED TODAY FOR VOTER REGISTRATION FRAUD!

Did anyone else just hear on FAUX news (i had to laugh at the reporter's reaction when the obviously pro-Obama guest brought up this fact) the head of one of the GOP offices in California was ARRESTED today for voter registration fraud - i think it was related to the story earlier on this site last week when the woman was telling that she was "tricked" into registering republican­..anyway the guest said to the bimbo with the long dark hair on weekends (not sure of her name) "i hope you will run this information as much as you are focusing on the fake Acorn fraud claims" and then the other guy on there was calling it voter fraud and the Pro-Obama guy said "registration fraud" NOT voter fraud - two big differences there and then the Bimbo was forced to explain the 2 differences when she got all huffy- she said "of course if it is a FACT, Faux news will investigate - don't you just love it - if it is a FACT? What about the Acorn allegations is FACT FAUX NEWS? I really hate that channel and all the bimbos on there that report the news.

Mark Jacoby, who was arrested in Ontario and owns a firm hired by the California Republican Party, violated state registration laws, authorities say.

SACRAMENTO -- The owner of a firm that the California Republican Party hired to register tens of thousands of voters this year was arrested in Ontario late last night on suspicion of voter registration fraud.

State and local investigators allege that Mark Jacoby fraudulently registered himself to vote at a childhood California address where he no longer lives so he would appear to meet the legal requirement that signature gatherers be eligible to vote in California.

Jacoby's arrest by state investigators and the Ontario Police Department comes after dozens of voters said they were duped into registering as Republicans by his firm, Young Political Majors, or YPM. The voters said YPM tricked them by saying they were signing a petition to toughen penalties against child molesters. The firm was paid $7 to $12 for every Californian it registered as a member of the GOP.

Several agencies had launched investigations into Jacoby's activities, including the Los Angeles County district attorney's office, which issued the warrant for his arrest earlier this month on felony charges of voter registration fraud and perjury.
