Mark Wahlberg's SNL Visit To Talk To Andy Samberg (VIDEO)

Was it all a setup or did it become one in recent days?

Mark Wahlberg first criticized Andy Samberg's "Mark Wahlberg Talks To Animals" sketch of him a week ago, and Thursday told Jimmy Kimmel he wanted to beat his face in.

Wahlberg then stopped by SNL last night. In the Palin-starring monologue he stopped by asking Lorne Michaels where Samberg's dressing room was, "Are you going to make me bust your head in too? Because I will."

Several skits later he creeped up on Samberg and claimed the impression was nothing like him, all while speaking just like Samberg's Wahlberg.

Mark Wahlberg is pushing 40 and is not "Marky Mark" anymore. He's a fairly big name actor and and a producer. Does anyone really think he ever intended to to violence to anyone on SNL. Even if at 1st he wasnt too thrilled with the sketch, his PR people probably convinced him it would be good PR to ACT pissed off and do the appearance.

This was an obvious set up....Walburg does not want to carry a show like SNL, but he would use it for promotion. It worked.

I can't believe how wrong the media has been about this all week. Wahlberg was very obviously kidding on Kimmel's show. I can't believe anyone was duped by it. Of course it was a set-up from the beginning. You'd have to have been blind or completely ignorant to think Wahlberg was serious. ...or just blatantly pandering for ratings by making news where it isn't.

I think it was specifically a setup because the original skit wasn't funny nor was it offensive. It was just this impersonation for it's own sake.

Wahlberg was a good sport, and cute doing it. I have no idea what the animal reference or how's your mother deal, but it was silly humour, and I was glad to see that he didn't really want to pummel Samberg's face in--but would love to see him on one of those dumb skits Andy does when he socks people while eating....

It was Andy Samberg parodying Mark Wahlberg's distinctive style of speaking. Much like other comedians have done with Christopher Walken.

I think Wahlberg said 'Say hi to your mother for me' in Four Brothers, and The Departed was replete with 'your mother' insults.

Having him talk to animals was funny because it was just so goofily random.

Andy was just getting even for all of us for "The Happening". The Happening is officially the worst movie ever made- it beats Exorcist 2- The Heretic and "Beyond The Door" two films I thought would remained the worst ever. So thanks Andy- you were and are, right on the money! Oh and yes this whole thing was a publicity stunt for Marky because he has a new project coming out and he desperately needs to wash "The Happening" out of our mouths so the investors may see a return! Sorry Marky- perhaps you should team up with Tom Cruise and figure out a way to resurrect his career- since you're all about resurrections this could be your new niche.
