More West Virginia Voters Say Machine Flipping Votes From Democrat To Republican

Charleston Gazette:

Three Putnam County voters say electronic voting machines changed their votes from Democrats to Republicans when they cast early ballots last week.

This is the second West Virginia county where voters have reported this problem. Last week, three voters in Jackson County told The Charleston Gazette their electronic vote for "Barack Obama" kept flipping to "John McCain".

Clearly, we're too "sophisticated" to just use paper ballots with big boxes and mark X for the candidates of our choice. If they're going to insist on computerized machines, then they need to give each voter a printout of their votes. Why are we making this harder than it has to be?

If the machines were flipping votes from Republican Thugs to Democrats, Palin and McCain would try to tie Obama to it. Heck, they would probably say he corrupted the machines himself. They would be calling for all voting machines to be fingerprinted to see if Obama's fingerprints were on them.

We should all have one way to cast our ballot and it should be on paper.

Guess what Spinner? My ATM machine is manufactured by "DIEBOLD"!!!! So, if they can produce the ATM machine to operate flawlessly, why can't they do the same for voting machines? THEY CAN!! But , the Whole purpose for going to electronic voting was pushed by the Republicans because THEY KNEW THE MACHINES WOULD BE EASY TO 'MANIPULATE!'

And that is just what they've done! Certainly a return to hand-counted ballots is an absolute Necessity! Then, after machines can be built and operated by the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, maybe, just maybe, we can try them again. But not until the Government is involved!

According to the first article I read dealing with this vote switching problem, the malfunctioning machines had likely experienced some "jostling" in transit from the warehouse to the polling place, and "simply" needed to be recalibrated.

Here's my question...aren't these machines supposed to be CHECKED for proper operation AFTER they're delivered to the polling place???

Actually I watched a video news story that stated the machines are NOT touched after they are delivered. The interviewer asked how they would know if they were operating propery? the answer was that they ASSUME they are fine since they were calibrated before shipping. buck passing with suspicion

This will continue to happen until there's a case where the perpetrator of the voter fraud is prosecuted for TREASON.

Vote fraud is TREASON. Any attempt to suppress the vote is TREASON.

During wartime, I believe this should carry the same penalty it does if someone gets caught selling secrets to our enemies.

Due process is important, so the evidence must be solid, but once a few thugs find themselves on death row for trying to subvert the honest results of an election, I think the point would be made clear - stealing elections is one of the worst crimes imaginable in our free society and will not be tolerated.

If you vote by machine, VIDEOTAPE it using your cell phone if you have that capability. We need to demand proof that our votes are recorded as we submit them.

Any phones with video capability should actually capture the process of the switching vote.

The police do not have any jurisdiction over the voting place (polls); this is a federal issue or you can contact your secretary fo state. though the local police can arrest you for creating a disturbance. before you vote ask the poll watchers if the machines are working properly, if you have a problem while voting ; stop voting and call them for assistance, point out what is ahppening with you ballot (vote). ask for a new ballot (or machine) insist the shut down the defective machine.

That may not be sufficient. If the police can't do anything, then the Feds should be called in to investigate. I wouldn't leave until my vote wast cast correctly and any suspicious machinery had been neutralized.

This will probably not work, reporting problems to the poll watchers. When I reported a flipped vote for Arnold at my first CA touch vote, the polling place workers 5, both parties, told me I was the only one, they weren't going to look at it, or report it, or document it. SD papers were already reporting a great success with touch screens.
