More West Virginia Voters Say Machine Flipping Votes From Democrat To Republican

Charleston Gazette:

Three Putnam County voters say electronic voting machines changed their votes from Democrats to Republicans when they cast early ballots last week.

This is the second West Virginia county where voters have reported this problem. Last week, three voters in Jackson County told The Charleston Gazette their electronic vote for "Barack Obama" kept flipping to "John McCain".

"Straight party voting" on voting machines is revealing a bad pattern of miscounting and omitting your vote, especially if you are a Democrat.

Most recently (Oct. 2008), a firm called Automated Election Services was found to have mis-coded the system in heavily Democratic Santa Fe County, New Mexico such that straight party voters would not have the presidential vote counted.

I am afraid that every state is going to be the new Florida. If you can't vote early make sure you pay extreme attention to how you "push the buttons". I would also encourage people to make sure they have the names of the precinct managers to make sure issues can be followed up upon.

If you come across this kind of Republican scam, break the machine while you are in the booth...th­is is so unconstitutional and the county should be criminalized.

If it happens on my watch, I will flip the machine so that it cannot be used again.

BTW, it is easy to manipulate voter machines with a few programming codes so that the unfavorable can easily win. It is called playing with Computer Logic.

CNN? Hello? You think they can break with their ACORN bogus fraud coverage and report THIS story? I don't know. May make them look like their in the tank for Obama. No they won't risk it. Better to keep up with the sensational ACORN story rather than a couple of counties disenfranchising voters.

Watch. CNN is no better than FOX these days. FOX at least is always open about their support for Republicans and have been unapologetic about it. CNN is just paranoid of being labled as biased.

Their coverage of vilifying ACORN is dispicable. But do a search on CNN and biased and you will see the allegations of being biased for OBAMA in recent months and THAT explains their conduct in recent weeks with how irresponsible they have been reporting ACORN and calling it voter fraud.

Dallas County, TX Voters:

If you early vote in person, it will be by touch-screen machine (though they claim a *paper trail* is generated at the elections office, though not at the polling place).
If you wait to vote on Nov 4, it will be done by paper ballot/optical scan.
The "safest" bet might be to early vote by mail (best of both worlds?).

This is per the Dallas County election office, with which I just got off the phone.

Heads Up for Voters in Dallas County, TX:

Just got off the phone with Elections Office.
Here's the bind:
--If you elect to early-vote in person, it will be done by touchscreen machine only, but I was repeatedly assured that the electronic vote generates a *paper receipt* to the HQ for official tabulation and counting. IOW, there is no "paper trail" generated at the polling place, but they assert that there *is* a paper trail at the election office (yeah, right!).
--If you wait to vote on Nov 4, voting that day *will* be done by paper ballot/optical scanning, which *might* (*might*) be more trustworthy.
Best bet is probably to early vote by mail.
Not that the Repugs couldn't or wouldn't find a way to hack any or all of these systems...
And not that our votes will "count" at least for EVs for Obama/Biden.
But, we've still got to vote, of course, and help all the down-ticket Dems.
