I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Sarah Palin

CNN reports that Palin has admitted her campaign's robocalls have irritated voters, another instance of Palin going off-message:

Wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and standing on a breezy tarmac, Palin said that if she had her way, the McCain campaign and the Republican National Committee would not be flooding battleground states with automated phone calls tying Barack Obama to former radical William Ayers, as they have done over the last week...

"If I called all the shots, and if I could wave a magic wand," Palin said, "I would be sitting at a kitchen table with more and more Americans, talking to them about our plan to get the economy back on track and winning the war, and not having to rely on the old conventional ways of campaigning that includes those robocalls, and includes spending so much money on the television ads that, I think, is kind of draining out there in terms of Americans' attention span.

"[Voters] get a bit irritated with just being inundated," she continued, "and you're seeing a lot of that of course with the huge amounts of money that Barack Obama is able to spend on his ads and his robocalls also."

The Huffington Post's Sam Stein reported on the wave of McCain campaign robocalls on October 16th.

Notice that she says the robocalls that are irritating people are from Obama at the end of her statement. Her greatest skill is the ability to say the sky is red with a straight face.

She was just delivering the GOP talking points for the week.
The campaign robocalls will cease for the week, only to return next week.
She was good at reminding us how the McCain campaign can solve all our economic problems without raising any taxes AND win the war in Iraq. And she got the dig in about all the money Obama is spending to smear poor ol' John.

I forgot the best part.
Her little diatribe today made it look like she is autonomous and actually has a mind of her own.
Yeah, right.

It is quite clear that she sees this lift up she has (absurdly) been given as something to launch a master plan from. She couldn't care less about McCain or what he thinks. She sees the opportunity for a right wing neo-conservative run at the WH in 2012 - and she is getting her "base in place"

I think she might find though, that by then there may be a third party of more rational center right conservatives, most of whom clearly can't abide her and totally disapprove (including people like Bay Buchanan who can't wait to be honest and say what she really thinks).

Colin Powell alluded to as much today in his endorsement - there are many more disaffected level headed conservatives jumping ship - mainly away from Plain - every day.

The tail is definitely wagging the dog over at Camp Doddery.

And I wouldn't get too comfy at the old kitchen table either Todd - because your days are numbered too pal.

I'd love to hear Sarah Palin explain how she's going to fix the economy. Even if she had a clue, it would be tough for her to explain given her inability to construct a simple comprehensible sentence.

McCain has been BEGGED by SEVERAL Republican members of Congress to PULL THE NEGATIVE ADS. This seems to have fallen on DEAF ears! SUSAN COLLINS of Maine was one of these BEGGARS. There are at least two states ready to go totally blue in the next couple of days. Maybe the ads will get pulled THEN! What is going to seal the deal in Pennsylvania? How many points does Obama have to be leading by in order to turn it dark blue? As far as getting the votes in the southern parts of Missouri, or places that have a large rural bloc-Obama STILL has a chance there. After all, he campaigned up and down the state of Illinois which has just as many small rural towns in it as say--Pennsylvania..... "Tain't over til it's over....and that may not be until November 10 at this rate.

A day late and a dollar short. We've already seen your true colors -- no changing them now. Try again Palin -- two-faced lies. McCain agrees with the calls so she doesn't. It's her that has been pounding it at the rallies too. Another manipulation by the campaign attempting to make her appear "nice and just like us". NOT.

When will they ever learn that the American people are not stupid to fall for this crap??
When this lose!!!! and in reality, they won't learn it then either. They run an old school campaign. Been there, read that -- it doesn't work. Your back of tricks is empty.

Ya better go home Sarah -- time to change the size of the belly pad on Bristol.

She didn't seem to have any problem rehashing the Ayers attacks in her speeches during the past few weeks. And wasn't she the one pressing McCain to delve even deeper into the gutter by resurrecting the Rev. Wright issue?

Why do I get the feeling that Palin is one of those types that will cut you loose like unwanted ballast if it suits her needs?

Perhaps because her political history demonstrates repeated accounts of doing precisely that according to Alaskan politicians' recent statements.

Looks like Gov. Palin is trying to position the thumping she's about to take as the campaign's fault, not hers. Before she backs over John McCain with the Straight Talk Express, she might want to consider taking a good, long look in the mirror.

If she was really concerned about the direction of the country, and McCain's chances to win, perhaps she could have said "thanks, but no thanks" to her selection as McCain's running mate.

I just want to see how McFlip will spin his running mate's dissatisfaction.

The McCain campain does dirty robocall canvassing, and then Palin accuses Obama of doing just that.

Classic.

oh please spare me Sarah , you would do nothing with a magic wand if you didn't like the calls you would grow the ovaries to say something to the campaign , but no you just "Wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and standing on a breezy tarmac, you said if she had her way............ , this isn't burger king Sarah you can choose to stand up but we see how far that has gone

I cannot wrap my brain around the thought of Palin sitting around a kitchen table, talking and being open and honest.
I simply cannot.
Everything about her is such an act....a phony.
