I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Sarah Palin

CNN reports that Palin has admitted her campaign's robocalls have irritated voters, another instance of Palin going off-message:

Wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and standing on a breezy tarmac, Palin said that if she had her way, the McCain campaign and the Republican National Committee would not be flooding battleground states with automated phone calls tying Barack Obama to former radical William Ayers, as they have done over the last week...

"If I called all the shots, and if I could wave a magic wand," Palin said, "I would be sitting at a kitchen table with more and more Americans, talking to them about our plan to get the economy back on track and winning the war, and not having to rely on the old conventional ways of campaigning that includes those robocalls, and includes spending so much money on the television ads that, I think, is kind of draining out there in terms of Americans' attention span.

"[Voters] get a bit irritated with just being inundated," she continued, "and you're seeing a lot of that of course with the huge amounts of money that Barack Obama is able to spend on his ads and his robocalls also."

The Huffington Post's Sam Stein reported on the wave of McCain campaign robocalls on October 16th.

It is amazing how they can run these calls/ads, yet in public both Mac and Sarah sort of manage to give a back-handed denouncement of them or distance themselves from them. It's very clever.

I hear another "dressing down" of Sarah from Mc's camp (or even from the ole "maverick" himself)! When left to her own devices...Sarah is as scattered as the white fluff from dandelions one a windy day!!! Keep spouting it, Sarah...it'll all be over soon!

Palin understands that Obama's huge surge in donations is spurred on by the McCain camp's scortched earth political tactics. In my view, Palin is becoming increasingly disillusioned with the tactics of her running mate. She's already looking forward to the next campaign.

It is quite clear that she sees this lift up she has (absurdly) been given as something to launch a master plan from. She couldn't care less about McCain or what he thinks. She sees the opportunity for a right wing neo-conservative run at the WH in 2012 - and she is getting her "base in place"

I think she might find though, that by then there may be a third party of more rational center right conservatives, most of whom clearly can't abide her and totally disapprove (including people like Bay Buchanan who can't wait to be honest and say what she really thinks).

Colin Powell alluded to as much today in his endorsement - there are many more disaffected level headed conservatives jumping ship - mainly away from Plain - every day.

The tail is definitely wagging the dog over at Camp Doddery.

And I wouldn't get too comfy at the old kitchen table either Todd - because your days are numbered too pal.

If she was calling the shots? Whoah! She just basically said the campaign has some internal turmoil going on.

It is pathetic, isn't it? She needs to "lose" the word "there". She uses it once or twice in almost every sentence. God, it drives me crazy, not to mention her voice!

IF she called the shots? excuse me, as the Palin end of the McCain/Palin ticket isn't it her job to call the shots? what's her plan if she gets elected, then ... waving a magic wand?

It's amazing that every time she does speak to anyone, she says the wrong thing and in very long run-on sentences that are,ah, you know, kitchen table, maverick, reform, inconsequential. Obama, scarey, I love America, you hate it yadda, yadda, yadda. Did I forget anything?By the time you have completed one of her diatribes, you feel like you need a stiff drink or remedial training. .

Please, Lord, you cannot let this woman get elected to anything else. You should probably rethink your decision to put her in charge of her family much less a state. never a country!!!!

What were you thinking?,

Wait a second. She's the VP candidate and last I recall her name was actually on the ticket. Seems like a VP candidate would have some say, however, not when Rove 2.0 is running McCain and his campaign. It's like she's on her own and they email her the speeches.

Did she insult us by saying we had no attention span?

Palin is now openly questioning Jmac. The more I see Palin, the more it seems to me, that she is hoping Jmac loses this election, so that she can run in 2016. It is also interesting that the way she talks it is almost as if she has absolutely no say in the campaign. They are simply propping her up as a dummy and hoping that women and all the right wing nuts will vote for Jmac.

These robocalls are a disaster for McCain. He caved into them because he believed the advisers who used it to defeat him 8 years ago. New Hampshire will swing sharply to Obama.

What I'm sick of (not just a "bit irritated" about) is all the mudslinging, vicious, etc. tactics Palin and her running mate are using in their ads, robocalls, and other campaign activities. Both she and McCain have made a point of mentioning how much money Obama has to spend on TV ads, which is another way of saying he beat their but*s in that aspect of the race, too. I don't want her sitting at my kitchen table trying to explain anything.
