I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Sarah Palin

CNN reports that Palin has admitted her campaign's robocalls have irritated voters, another instance of Palin going off-message:

Wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and standing on a breezy tarmac, Palin said that if she had her way, the McCain campaign and the Republican National Committee would not be flooding battleground states with automated phone calls tying Barack Obama to former radical William Ayers, as they have done over the last week...

"If I called all the shots, and if I could wave a magic wand," Palin said, "I would be sitting at a kitchen table with more and more Americans, talking to them about our plan to get the economy back on track and winning the war, and not having to rely on the old conventional ways of campaigning that includes those robocalls, and includes spending so much money on the television ads that, I think, is kind of draining out there in terms of Americans' attention span.

"[Voters] get a bit irritated with just being inundated," she continued, "and you're seeing a lot of that of course with the huge amounts of money that Barack Obama is able to spend on his ads and his robocalls also."

The Huffington Post's Sam Stein reported on the wave of McCain campaign robocalls on October 16th.

I honestly believe she has no idea that her campaign doesn't have a plan to talk about. If she were to sit down with a supporter and not be allowed to use Obama as a foil, she would have nothing but winks and down home euphemisms pitched through that trademark nasal Alaskan patois. True American small town values is not an economic plan.

Well, maybe there is an intelligent bone in her body after all. I agree with her that robo calls are not an effective tactic.

Not one intelligent bone, sorry.
She just got her talking points for the day, you know, the one about sitting around the kitchen table talking to regular folks about how the McCain campaign has ALL the solutions for winning the war and fixing the economy without raising a single tax.
She IS the robocall.
She is Peggy Hill in the flesh.

When Sarah the Wingnut begins to complain about the campaign McCain has a problem. She is starting to position herself for future elections and blame the McCain campaign for makeing her look bad.

Agreed. Palin is looking at her star fade and she positioning herself for future elections by blaming the McCain camp for her failure this go round.

Has one ethic investigation ruled against her in Alaska. Troopergate is under further investigation. There are investigations waiting in the wings, one of which will be identical to why AL Senator Stephens in on trial. Stephens was Palin's mentor. So her chances of being re-elected Governor in 2010 are pretty slim, if she even gets to that as impeachment could be on the table.

It could have been worse. The robocalls could have used her voice.

I don't think it's the Obama campaign that is inundating people with potentially-illegal Robocalls. TV ads yes. But not Robocalls that come at all hours and break up ones day pattern. Obama uses living people...mainly volunteers.

This is just a way of justifying their use of hit pieces by blaming the fact that Obama has raised a huge amount of money fromwell over a million citizens giving less than $200 contributions.

I hate this woman. I really do. I hate everything she does. I hate everything she stands for. She terrifies me, she is a puppet for the two worst parts of our country: the far Christian right and the neocons.

I talked to people today who had received so many robocalls, their answering machines were flooded - and they could not even get messages from friends or families. They were not even remotely amused and they didn't listen to a single call. The McCain campaign has lost its mind.

The McCain campaign is out of touch, they have no idea that Americans are in on their game.

She's getting warmer - almost a proto-opinion ( though detached completely from her "cause").

Well, well. Unfortunately for her, the vast majority of robocalls is from her own campaign. That's a small detail she neglected to leave out.

Along with the little fact that she was found guilty of breaking state ethics law. It's just the perspective of one wearing rose colored glasses. Don't cha know!

But remember that in her fantasy world, she wasn't found of doing anything illegal or unethical. :-)
