On Sunday, Fox News host Chris Wallace asked John McCain how he would feel if he lost the presidential race to Barack Obama:

"Oh, sure,'' Mr. McCain said. " I mean, I don't dwell on it. But, look, I've a wonderful life. I have to go back and live in Arizona, be in the United States Senate representing them, a wonderful family, daughters and sons that I'm so proud of and a life that's been blessed. I'm the luckiest guy you have ever interviewed and will ever interview. I'm the most fortunate man on earth and I thank God for it every single day.''

"So if the world turns an unfortunate way on November 4th, don't feel sorry for John McCain?" Mr. Wallace asked.

"Don't feel sorry for John McCain and John McCain will be concentrating on not feeling sorry for himself,'' Mr. McCain said.

Mr. Wallace said, "And you might just be president."

"You never know,'' Mr. McCain said.

His plans for the future economy and wealth of the United States were realistic--unlike Obama--who only vouched for "change". Do we necessarily know what change he is referring to/ means or....are we just hyped up by that one particular word?

Yes, we haven't had such a great experience with President Bush the past 8 years..but let me just say one thing. McCain is NOT president Bush.

First, let's look at McCain's war plan. He believes in pulling troops out at a REASONABLE time, allowing them to do what they need to do in-order to not put the U.S. at threat. If the troops were automatically pulled out, without a timeframe..then bigger issues would arrise. Since we started this war, we need to finish it respectively. We simply cannot leave them in dust--because, the U.S. is somewhat at fault for their current position. . he is aiming at are all wrong. If he decides to pull out the way he does..then the people from there will feel the need to cross border ONCE AGAIN...and we do not want that!

Just because Obama has been made more of a celebrity figure than anything else--does not justify the reason people should necessarily vote for him! His plans are unrealistic! His words mean nothing . Think fo the future of the United States. Are Obama's plans that great? Yes, it's nice to change tradition but don't just vote for him to make this possible.

John McCain may have served this country well in Vietnam as a POW. But that service alone does not qualify him for presidency at a time when Gorge W. Bush of the same Republican Party has led thiscountry down a hole over the past eight years. Now that the Bush presidency has been nailed in its coffin by this hell of an economy, what chance does McCain have? Not to mention his pick of Sarah Palin as his running mate (with all due respct for Ms. Palin for who she is, her choice by Mr. McCain as a running mate shows very poor judgment for heavens' sake.). America definitely stands a better chance wiht an Obama presidency with a McMain in the White House. Whether McCain may turn the tide is a matter subject to God. But I know I will definitely not for him. Frankly, I cannot predict what will definitely happen during an Obama presidency, I feel more comfortable with him in the White House, knowing that like me who was raised by his grandmother, Mr. Obama respects and loves his grandmother the way he does. My instinct tells me that Mr. Obama will make one of the best US presidents in our nation's history. God bless Mr. Obama if he wins to lead our country out of his current economic mess.

If McCain returns to Arizona, he's not using good judgement. Arizona is the SKIN CANCER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD! I lived in Sedona for about 10 years. Arizona is beautiful, but not good for a person who has a skin problem.

Indeed, I currently live in Arizona.
What a lot of people who have never visited Arizona don't know is that the Sun here in Arizona is White. I lived in New York most of my life before moving out here 5 years ago and the Sun in NY is Yellow. It is practically impossible to go outside here without wearing sunglasses because the Sun is so bright. You sweat without ever knowing that you are sweating because it evaporates so quickly.
Yes, a very bad place if you are predisposed to skin cancer or have skin cancer.

This is another thing very troubling about electing McCain, we do not know that he is cancer free right now, he only gave reporters 20 minutes to go over his 1000 plus pages of medical records.
He has not allowed ANYONE to see his medical records since then and NOW they say they will NOT be releasing Palin's medical records.
What are they trying to hide in Palin's case?

Bob Marley died of Melanoma that spread to his brain.
Melanoma is responsible for more deaths each year than any other form of cancer.
If you are diagnosed with Malignant Melanoma start getting your personal life in order because a diagnosis of Malignant Melanoma is a death sentence.

Republicans need to lose this election so that they will soul-search and take back their party from the extremists. They need to take the party back from Sean Hannity and Co. These guys unashamedly pollute American political discourse and wilfully exploit the cerebral limitations of low information voters. Conservatism is not a bad idea as long as it is moderated and allied with fundamental fairness, NOT greed. If they win, such post-mortem will be impossible.

Win or lose though, the victim of all these non-sensically divisive tactics is Mccain's carefully cultivated reputation as a decent man. He cultivated this over the years and Rick davis and Co. wrecked it for him in 4 months!. Lobbyist Ricky has nothing to lose. After the election, he will go back to his lobbying job making millions of dollars and John Mccain will unfortunately be left crying over the broken pieces of his reputation.....and what might have been.

1) What if Mccain did not allow his campaing to be hijacked by people who did not vote for him in the primaries in the first instance

2) What if he had chosen Lieberman or Tom Ridge?

It is a shame. A real shame indeed

Which of your seven (or is it nine?) houses will you go to? Which of your thirteen cars will you drive there with? So many decisions... and you thought campaigning was hard!

BTW, I wasn't planning on feeling sorry for you, but thanks for allowing it.

After reading the comments, it appears to me that there is a consensus . We appear to be dodging the bullet. McCain had a pretty good run . It is time for him to limp off into the sunset.

What a sad circus you've created McCain. Definitely do go back to Arizona and know that you will forever be known as the clown who would've been president. You know "my friend," you were a hero but you have, in the words of Winston Churchill, become a "gutter snipe." Shame on you, Ms. Palin and the foul, wretched, stenchy people you have hired to foment hatred and bigotry.

In terms of reputation and honor McCain can use a thimble to pack what is left of them.
