Murdered Bear Cub Dumped On Campus With Obama Signs

CULLOWHEE - A dead bear was found dumped this morning on the Western Carolina University campus, draped with a pair of Obama campaign signs, university police said.

Maintenance workers reported about 7:45 a.m. finding a 75-pound bear cub dumped at the roundabout near the Catamount statute at the entrance to campus, said Tom Johnson, chief of university police.

College kids do a lot of stupid things - especially when they get together in groups, but the explanation for this seems very hard for me to swallow. Maybe they shot the bear or not, I guess they are stupid enough to actually pick it up off the road. But stealing campaign signs is a pretty deliberate act and to not consider that during a very ugly election environment to think that a dead black bear with a black candidate's signs on his head (where the wound was) in the racially charged south - you would have to be a complete fool to think this would not to raise some very big flags. Send a note to John Bardo at NCU and tell him how wrong he is to dismiss this as a harmless prank. I go to Western Carolina, so I've been hearing about this incident all day. Unfortunately a lot of people are assuming false things, and blowing the whole situation out of proportion. It's terrible about the bear, but the bear wasn't even killed by the same people who left the bear at the entrance, and it most most likely a prank and not some serious attack against Obama. People really just need to calm down and find out all the facts. And bashing all Republicans/McCain for what happened? Ridiculous and pathetic. Here's the link to what actually happened.

Im Scared for this country, if we cant learn that we are wasting the time we have on earth to fighting against other peoples beliefs than we dont deserve to live our time on earth, anyone who would take another creatures life to make a statement is sick in the head and im scared to both of the candidates because people are going crazy right now, too many people are extremely on one side and forgetting that we are a nation united and during these times it feel like we are on the verge of separating again and it makes me want to get out of america, so keep on radicals and well see how much you can ruin your life and our nation.

I agree with you. This is scary stuff. I'm afraid to put a sign in my yard after reading this morning about people having rocks thrown through windows and tire's slashed.. What is really scary is this is what we have been living with the whole time only now it is coming out because we have an African American running for President. How sad. !
