I Like ItI Don’t Like It

At a John McCain rally in Woodbridge, Virginia, three people handed out "Obama for Change"
bumper stickers with the Communist sickle and hammer and the Islamic crescent, saying Obama was a socialist with ties to radical Islam. Several moderate McCain supporters, Muslim and Christian alike, struck back - relentlessly bombarding the group distributing the flyers until they left the premises.

When John McCain shows as much courage as his young supporters, then maybe I will believe his campaign does not support the racist and christo--fascist agenda that has become the cornerstone of the GOP.

Sometimes it's easy to forget there are moderates on both sides. Good for them.

I am prepared to take this on face value, even if it is staged rearguard GOP action. Why?

Because it is correct. And Constitutional.

I have to agree with you, Darth; it is within the bounds of the Constitution. Even if it was staged (my jury is still out, but it is more than a bit stinky and convenient in its flow), it still bites McSame on his tail, as it just underscores the sort of quacks he and his running mate Moose-olini attract like flies to an untended outhouse.

That was sooo staged! Why would anyone even take it seriously?

Like a camera crew just *happened* to be there at the exact right moment and place to capture the open-mindedness of McKlan supporters!

The McCain campaign has officially imploded. They don't know what to hate anymore. Just bile spewing over. Here's an idea, how they hate each other for voting for Bush in the first place.

You say you are an 'independant,' in your post below, and yet you've referenced Michael Moore twice within 5 minutes on this blog - a person who is of the 'anyone but Republicans' mindset and views the world only as he wants to view it. Read too deep into his words and you could possibly get lost in a world of hate and disgust based on his own opinion of the world. That's like referencing Ann Coulter to prove a hypocrisy point.

So. As for your 'independency,' I don't believe you.

I know a lot of us are dogging McCain right now, and most of the time we've got a pretty good reason, but does anyone remember who his competition for the nomination was? I'd much rather have McCain in contention than Huckabee, or Thompson, or Giuliani. McCain's certainly not my choice, but he's far from being the worst choice.

That may have been true before the Palin selection.

A teacher in New York asked her 6th grade class how many of them were McCain fans...

Not really knowing what a McCain fan was, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for Little Johnny.

The teacher asked Little Johnny why he decided to be different... again.

Little Johnny said, 'Because I'm not a McCain fan.'

The teacher said, 'Why aren't you a McCain fan?'

Johnny said, 'Because I'm a Democrat.'

The teacher asked why he's a Democrat.

Little Johnny answered, 'Well, my Mom's a Democrat and my Dad's a Democrat, so I'm a Democrat.'

The teacher asks, 'If your Mom was a mor@n, and your Dad was an idi@t, what would that make you?'

With a big smile, Little Johnny replied, 'That would make me a McCain fan.

I always liked Little Johnny and posting this.

Those non-Muslims who are for McCain were only offended because the TV cameras were there. You heard them when they said you guys are going to lose the election for us.

I have three Muslim co-workers who were on the fence about the election. They've always voted republicans because their beliefs tend to be very conservative but the economy has overshadowed some of those social issues. However two of them decided to vote Obama this year and one doesn't want to vote at all. Their reasoning is they feel McCain has made being an Arab or Muslim a slur. American Muslims and middle east Christians of Arab decent have traditionally voted Republican because of their conservative social values but I think the Republican party has increasingly alienated them.

What Muslim in their right mind would vote for McCain? Please leave a comment if you know the reasons

This struck me as a piece put together by a community theater group -- the video wing.

None of the characters seemed to be actual people.

The "dialogue" for this script sounds as if it is written by someone more interested in making a religious point than a political one. Maybe the group (all the players) are part of some ecumenical ministry.

Very odd.

If it does help anyone stop the sickening race and religion divisions, good. I mean that is what political theater is all about, ultimately: pressing home some moral point.

there could be muslims out there thinking voting con is the "american" thing to do not realizing that cons are more than willing to bite the hand that votes for them -- hence the queesy mix of "do the right thing meets uncle tom's cabin" kind of feel this clip has. after viewing the con masses and their leaders throwing angry poop as far as they possibly can i personally don't know how a muslim could vote in good conscience for a con who is busy painting all muslims as terrorists espeically if your names sounds even sounds kind of non-anglo but its a form of opression based in fear that doesn't work well on non-cons -- thats why we are on huffington post instead of watching bill o'reilly.

i would like to think there are intelligent mccain supporters. the view of the average mccain supporter yelling anti-socialism nonsense just before they pick up their medicare scripts and social security check is all over youtube but might not be the most accurate portrayal but it does make better video.

Hate and utter non-sense like this is why General/Secretary of State Colin Powell (a life-long Republican) decided that he could not support the Republican party in this election. Powell's beef wasn't with Senator John McCain. And now Powell's substantial support is publicly for Senator Barack Obama. And I think Powell said it best on Meet The Press. Whether Obama is a Muslim: the correct answer is no, he's a Christian. But an even more correct answer is: what's wrong with being a Muslim?

I'm a Christian. In high school, I had an American school teacher who happened to be Muslim, partly because he was treated badly by Christians. He was a fine, upstanding man. He passed away and I miss him. We need to actually meet people, talk, and interact with them before we draw conclusions.
