Still more ugliness and hostility on the campaign trail, courtesy of North Carolina's Fayetville Observer:

Someone slashed the tires of at least 30 vehicles parked outside the Crown Coliseum on Sunday during a rally for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, authorities said.

Sheriff's deputies are investigating. The tires were cut while people were inside the Crown Coliseum listening to speeches, said Maj. E. Wright of the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office...

I spoke to my sister-in-law in Raleigh, NC this evening. She went to vote early Monday. As they returned to the parking lot they found that cars in the parking lot with Obama signs or paraphenalia in the car had all four tires slashed--in broad daylight.

I'm not going to speculate about why nobody saw any of this happening, but I will say that the campaigns, both of them, are going to have to negotiate for more police and other surveillance at polling places. This could get very ugly. Because, let's face it, there are Democrats who will get fed up and start to retaliate.

This is what comes of the ugly, divisive campaign that the Republicans have decided to run. If McCain is any kind of leader at all, he needs to man up and talk to his supporters and Palin.

Something is REALLY WRONG here. Mac supporters love to use those caps. I also got a forwarded letter from my sister in law today. She apparently got the letter for the sister of a woman who was canvassing in Wisconsin. This woman's canvassing partner was attacked by a 72 year old man. He grabbed her by the hair, dragged her, bumping into her etc. Said he was trying to get her to leave while she was trying to leave. He accussed her of being from Acorn. The attacked woman didn't fight back she just tried to get away. The police were called and the man was arrested. Kindly Obama personally called her to thank her for canvassing and to see how she was.
