Yeti

The Daily Mail reports that a team of Japanese explorers in the Himalayas claims to have found footprints of the abominable snowman. Photos of the footprints below, courtesy of AFP/Getty.

The large hairy creature resembling a human or bear is said to live in the regions of Nepal and Tibet. While the scientific community largely regards the creature as folklore, given the lack of evidence, reports of the yeti go back hundreds of years.

Yoshiteru Takahashi, the leader of the Yeti Project Nepal, made the discovery leading his Japanese team's third attempt at tracking down the half-man-half-ape.

In a related development, a homeless man checked into a local hospital with frostbitten toes due to lack of footwear.

Okay, I apologize if it's been said, but if it has, I haven't seen it...

Why, oh why, don't these footprint-hunters ever, um, follow the footprints? Seems that would be the best way to put the issue to bed for good, after all.

1) Find Footprints of giant snow-zone being.
2) FOLLOW giant footprints, to:
3) Find giant being who made footprints.
4) Publish video interview with giant being in "Science" and "People" magazines.

No charge, for this CLUE, folks...

i'm sure ol' yoshiteru's grant sources are proud of this research.

he ought to study the outside of the local school's gym wall in january, he'll no doubt find the long, meandering trails of some new, yellow-tinged species.

I love the brisk feeling of snow on my feet, but I must wear shoes next time so they can't figure out that it's me.

Sent from my Yetiberry.

Why don't they ever find a dead bigfoot, or at least bigfoot droppings?

It's always footprints, which are easy to fake.

believe it or not, teh do find huge poles of scat that is not bear or anything else that we are familiar with. They think that the sasquatch is related to orangutang and nocturnal. The sightings all have vrey similar characteristics...long fir, a peculiar stride, and typically people when they have these encounters are deathly afraid.

"believe it or not, teh (sic) do find huge poles (sic) of scat that is not bear or anything else.. .typically people when they have these encounters are deathly afraid."

Hmm! do they find the huge piles of scat before or after the people become deathly afraid?

First let me say that I don't believe in the Yeti or Bigfoot.

But as far as a body being found, from what I have heard, it is a rare occasion to ever find a bear's body in the woods. In fact, I once heard a ranger say that they *never* find a bear's body in the woods.

So although the "no body" argument doesn't necessarily stand when considering animals that we know to exist, there is still a complete void of other evidence (droppings, hair, etc).

Repuglickans are living proof that apes and monkeys evolved from them.
