26 Papers That Backed Bush Go To Obama

Taking a look at our daily endorsement tally so far, the Obama-Biden ticket has a hefty lead in both total newspapers and total circulation. But another figure that favors the Democratic candidates is the number of newspapers that have endorsed Sen. Obama despite supporting President Bush's reelection in 2004.

At least twenty-six newspapers have switched their support to the Democrat, while only four newspapers (all in the South) endorsing Sen. McCain supported John Kerry in 2004.

I just heard it with my own ears, Fox News just came out and said John McCain and company have filled a lawsuit on MSNBC because Andrea Mitchel would not cover what Joe Biden said about Obama being tested when he gets in office the way that John McCain wanted it to be put out to the public. Can anyone also verify this please. McCain has officially lost his mind!

In the South Bay section of Los Angeles, home to the heavily Republican southern-most beach cities like Torrance, Redondo Beach , Palos Verdes, Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach, the Daily Breeze newspaper endorsed Obama, its first non-Rep. endorsement since Lyndon Johnson. Already the mail is pouring in with the usual vitiolic talking points about Ayers, Wright, etc.The Daily News which covers the San Fernando Valley also endorsed Obama. In fact, one is hard-pressed to find an endorsement that isn't Obama. No one around LA is seen witha McCain T shirt, either. My son's friend remarked the other day, "Hell you can't find a McCain T shirt, but Obama T shirts find you!"

The Democrats will not take him back no matter what. As a matter of fact, in the new congress, he will lose ALL the committees he has been on; he will be a shunned back bencher. Frankly, he should be recalled by the voters of Connecticut; their influence in congress will continue to diminish by letting him stay on.

A few months ago, I had purchased an Obama "08" T-shirt and had reservations about wearing it. I live in a very conservative Republican community, I was actually called a commie for not supporting the war in Iraq. I finally got the courage to wear my T-shirt to the gym and all I got was thumbs up from many known Republicans . Huge turn around in Republicans loyalties.

Specifically, how they sucked up to power and back-alley aborted anything resembling journalistic independence.

And they're suprised circulation is declining. They're shocked that folks would be finding more and better analysis online.

When people start endorsing so late in the election, after the tide has clearly turned favorably towards Obama, it is indeed very hard to tell if endorsements from Republicans and traditionally right leaning publications are genuine. Do they honestly endorse Obama, or are they just rats jumping from a sinking ship? Unfortunately, the only ones who know their true intentions are the people themselves. I would LIKE to give them the benefit of the doubt and take their endorsements as being sincere, but in the end we'll never know.
