I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Somehow, somewhere, at some point in the political process, candidates started getting handed babies. It's since become campaign trail tradition that they hold the infants, hug them, kiss them, and occasionally make them cry. Here's how babies respond to John McCain (and vice versa) based on every photo we could find on the Associated Press and Getty Images of Senator McCain with a baby.

Have you checked out photographer Jill Greenberg's McCain photos?
Talk about capturing someone's 'inner' soul.
The kind that even babies can sense...

the last picture lookslike the baby is imitating McCan in the first presidential debate - you know when he kept sticking out his tongue like a lizard.

That first photo is BAD! It's screaming for a photoshop.
"MCCAIN EATS CHILDREN!!!"

That's really kinda too bad. Nothing feels worse than when a young kid or small animal doesn't want to "hang out" with you.

Let's be fair, though. We're talking about that "daddy" vibe vs a "grampa" vibe. They're different. And kids react differently.

Obama does sorta exude warmth, though.

Ok, I'm sure that the worst photos were chosen to show the contrast between Obama and McCain but I still had to laugh at how awkward McCain looks with these poor kids. Not one of them appears as if they want to be touched by that man. And what's with him kissing that one kid? That just looks creepy.

Those poor babies! I can't believe those parents think it is funny when their children are screaming their lungs out because they don't want to be held by this man. I would never do that to my kids.

Everyone knows babies, young children can sense bad people. I had a neighbor who occasionally came buy to borrow things. Finally she decided to pick my daughter up, she screamed at the top of her lungs. My daughter never did that before, she was always quiet and loved being held by people. Everyone knew this woman was on drugs badly....so yeah children have intuition.

Could a person look any less grandfatherly? What the *hell* is he doing in that first photo? The kissing one is pretty creepy too.

Not even the baby vote, McCain? I guess it's true what they say about Babes and animals...great discernment.

Oh Boy. This is a good reason why I am helping my son with his report to elect Obama. McCain is scaring children. Not good. Is he trying to match an emotion from a child he knows nothing about?
(He may be losing his marbles. I'm afraid... )

A recent Article about John McCain
It was just before John McCain's last run at the presidential nomination in 2000 that my husband and I vacationed in Turtle Island in Fiji with John McCain, Cindy, and their children, including Bridget (their adopted Bangladeshi child).
He waxed on during one meal about how Indo-Chine women had the best figures and that our American corn-fed women just couldn't meet up to this standard. McCain's appreciation of the beauty of Asian women was so great that David the American economist had to move his Thai wife to the other side of the table from McCain as McCain kept aggressively flirting with and touching her. Needless to say I was irritated at his large ego and his rude behavior towards his wife and other women, but decided he must have some redeeming qualities as he had adopted a handicapped child from Bangladesh. I asked him about this one day, and his response was shocking: "Oh, that was Cindy's idea - I didn't have anything to do with it. She just went and adopted this thing without even asking me. You can't imagine how people stare when I wheel this ugly, black thing around in a shopping cart in Arizona .No, it wasn't my idea at all."
Letter was originally written by: Ana Dubey Made public by her friend, Mary-Kay GamelProfessor of Classic Literature & ArtsCowell College, UC Santa Cruz, CA.

I'm no fan of McCain, and I love a McCain/Palin joke as much as the next gal, but I find this really hard to believe. It seems too cruel to be true.

Better to concentrate on all the reasons we like Obama rather than this filth about the other guy.

ugly, ugly, ugly story,

It may be ugly, but it's true. Sometimes we have to face reality and the truth is the light to reality.

I know from interviews that the first part is true.

As for the second part, the fact we only see the blonde daughter on the campaign trail says it all for me.

I saw this bumper sticker in Santa Cruz a while back. There was this yellow slug poking it's head out from some mulch, or something like that. It said "Live within your Earth".

It is totaly wrong to post such a thing. Yeah I know people will asy things and like who they are voting for. You on the other hand have gone to far. I do not believe that story! No one could hate a child like that and comment about it. You should look up the rules on adoption! It is hard! There are psychlogical testing involved. If a person was just adopting to passify their spouse then the agency would know about it. There are hours and traveling also invloved. For a speacial needs child there is ALOT of red tape. You are just plain a fan of the other canidate at the expence of making a fool of yourself. Not all gossip and lies are worth repeating. Of course everyone has their opinion jst not everyones opinion is worth hearing!!! Like yours!!!!! Go back to gossip in the hair parlor lady

Oh yeah, I lived in Arizona and have friends who know Cindy and John McCain and know too that he is very capable of saying these things and have on occasion witnessed some of his nastiness as well as his lame attempts to appear humorous.

He detest people of color, believe me.

If this is true it should be known. I had a client who had worked in McCain's office in Arizona, just long enough to find another job. She said he was hateful, had a terrrible rage problem, and she wouldn't vote for him for any position of authority.

I am sorry he had such a hard time in Vietnam, but - making him president of the US is not in the best interest of the country.

These little kids are unhappy -- the first boy looks terrified. Then look at the kids in the Obama slideshow. Some are puzzled -- but look at the little guy who's just leaping into his arms. Look at way he holds them. The contrast is remarkable.

according to Cindy's version(s) of the adoption story, she consistently says that he didn't know about it. The amount of "red tape" depends on the country of birth of the child. Not all are the same. That does the same for any psychological testing.

Cindy's face says it all in picture#5.

Thank-you. That really stuck out for me. #5

Did you notice at the end of the second debate John and Cindy made one quick round to say hi and shake hands. She kept her hands behind her back and it looked like she was looking through a window at ugly puppies. (As in: we can look, but don't touch. )
