I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Somehow, somewhere, at some point in the political process, candidates started getting handed babies. It's since become campaign trail tradition that they hold the infants, hug them, kiss them, and occasionally make them cry. And babies' faces don't lie. Here's how babies respond to Barack Obama (and vice versa).

Way too cute. Some of those babies have the funniest looks on their faces. Priceless.

Why do parents do that? Poor kid handed off to a stranger and if you look at faces of the children there are varying levels of wariness and confusion. The candidate is forced to figure out how to hold them, where to put them and guage when the dam is going to burst (crying starts). Most of the time it just seems awkward and rather really cute. On occasion you get a great shot...none here for me...but the excercise is too labor intensive,

They want to be able to tell their kids, when they grow, that they were held by a future President. In Barack's case, they also might want some of his intelligence to rub off on the kid. ;>)

If your state has early voting, then you should be voting early. My boss just sent an email out today stating that he was not appoving time to vote on election day. Mainly because Indiana has early voting and he feels that everyone should have an opportunity to vote before November 4th. I'm pretty sure he got this cleared through the higher up otherwise he would not have sent out the memo.

My point is, do not take for granted that you will be able to vote on election day. Anything can happen. Vote early if you can. Every vote is needed and every vote counts. We can not let this slip away from us.

Absolutely vote. Vote early if you can. There is no law that says an employer has to provide you with time to vote on election day.

Know your rights. Here's a link to a pdf. file from the ACLU about voting:

Wait, that's not true!!!

TIME OFF TO VOTE LAWS ARE MANDATED BY THE STATE. The MAJORITY of states are required by law to allow time off for voting.

Please consult your local and state laws via the Registrar's Office on your state's voting laws!!!!!

Hey everyone Palin just came out against 51 in colorado. An amendment that helps special needs kids and adults.

see the story here

http://www.9news.com/news/article.aspx?storyid=102301&catid=188

You'd think that a mother with a special needs kid of her own would have a little more compassion on this issue.

I say that whatever Sarah Palin is 'FOR' we should be 'AGAINST'

Apparently she thinks that raising ONE CENT for every 10 DOLLARS SPENT, is just too much for kids and adults with developmental disabilities.

I find these pictures very moving. People are handing Obama their brightest hopes, their future and ours, just so he'll hold them. And, I can't help myself, I see in his kind hands, (anyone else notice the father's long index finger held up to help the tiny girl hold her head up?) an understanding of what's going on. He knows that by handing him your children, you're asking him to make a better America for them, and he understands because he has children of his own. I've seen a lot of politicians holding babies. He's the first I've ever seen truly loving them. I'm a Canadian. I can't vote for him. You can. For the sake of the babies, please, vote for Obama.

I was kissed by Richard Nixon in '72. I'm not proud of it at all.

My father and my mother when she was pregnant with me met Bill Clinton when he was a governor in an elevator.

I've always thought it was kind of cool.

Hey you are part of a historic time - revel in it! As for the paranoids posting that these pictures are staged: get a grip on your hatred. What I saw was a guy who knows how to handle kids with ease. That's worth more than all the "thumbs up" horseshit McCain forces out at every stop.
